How do I edit default skins that are already available in the game? (Like adding the swastikas or removing kill markings)

At the launch of the P-51 I want to use the Chuck Yeager skin that is shown in the picture, but I really don’t like the kill markings... is there a way to remove them without having to remake the skin?

You can extract the skin using AnKors UnGTP here:

Read the readme and do a search for UnGtp if you are confused on how to do it (most likely). then you can mod the skin (but without an official template... good luck). Anyway, once you have altered it you can only see it in "Custom" mode and nobody else will see it unless they have downloaded it and installed it. 

 

If you are flying SP only this is not really an issue unless you are expecting to see the modified skins on other AI planes. The default skin will always be the one seen and there is no way to change the default skins since they are hardcoded in the game.

Yeah, I know how user skins work, but I don’t care what other people see, only what I see... ? Thank you very much my guy.

I tried using unGTP-IL2 and although the recent files show the P51 & P38 and SpitiX,   I cannot see any tempest skins.   I have basically unpacked every gtp with 'skin' in its name.

Anyone got any idea why?  Did they go to a different name after skin9?

Yeah, i get it, but can you pls tell me more details on how to do it? Can I edit a user skin somebody else made to my taste, like add swastikas or something like that? I don’t know absolutely anything about skinning in this game.
