Unlimited ammo in any mode.

I have a tick box for unlimited ammo, but it does not have red or green highlighting around it. And it does not give me unlimited ammo, despite it being ticked.

 

What do I need to do? What is the significance of the red or green highlighting too?

Well it works for me in singleplayer. 

I use it in qmb. If I forget to switch it off it will be in unlimited ammo when I fly campaigns too if using custom mode. 

You can only have unlimited ammo in custom mode. 

To have it on mp the server need to run in that mode.

Are you using a rear gunner? If that's the case, you may need to reload your gun when the current magazine runs dry.

I believe middle mouse is the default reload for rear gunners.

Now working. Thanks, but I'm not sure what I did other than keymap a reload command (Ctrl + R)

 

But some guns reload themselves.
