This project has been in silence for too long. Have you heard any news recently that I have missed? I am curious to see what is coming next ....

You are not alone, we are all waiting for newness.

In DD 230 Jason says that Tank Crew has some new features and improvements coming as well. I do understand it the way that the next update will bring them.

In the Russian forum (believe it was DD 230) there was also the question. There was the answer that things were in progress, but nothing was finished yet. What would interest me more is whether the two TC campaigns are still planned for the next (September) update.

Now we got some news, but to be honest, I am quite disappointed.

Still no binoculars for the commander. This is for me the absolutely most important feature, an absolute must have. Riding around in a tank without binoculars for the commander is like flying in minimum zoom, with only maximum zoom when toggled in gunsight view.

Of course for the players of the russian tanks, it is not much of an issue, with the 360° periscope with magnification. Especially for T-34 players, who can stay in the gunners position, so no turning back of the turret to 12 o'clock position, which is number two on the priorities list.

Compared to the good old Panzer Elite of 1999 fame by Wings Simulations developed by Teut Weidemann there is still some way to go, but it seems we are getting closer with 3.201 patch next week.

I think that we need some infantry. Static or animated. Otherwise whole thing seems bit weird...

Other than that, it will be great IMO.

No infantry I'm afraid.  TC is basically a game that evolved around a first rate air combat simulation.  When looking at it's strengths you have to acknowledge the work that has gone into the aircraft that can actually fly the skies above the ongoing tank combat.  For instance, Post Scriptum is a neat game with plenty of human ground players to augment armor engagements, but it doesn't have the aircraft capability of something like Tank Crew, and most likely never will.  In addition, ground infantry and the ability to ferret out enemy positions in advance of advancing armor is great, but I would argue that aircraft can do the same thing, if not better.  Immersion wise...yes it would be awesome to see infantry on the battlefield, but you get used to it after awhile.
