New British pilot model for Spit VB?

Anyone know if we will get to have the new British pilot model for the Spit VB as well as the IX? Just purchased Bobp and just love the new spit, great pilot model too!

The Spit Vb model in this game was built for the Battle Of Kuban, so it will most likely continue to have a Soviet pilot, at least until we get some way to change the pilot model for an aircraft.

The Vb is a "Russian" plane from the Kuban planeset. Unless it saw any action during the Bodenplatte campaign timeframe, I doubt it will be added.

The spitfire V was already withdrawn by the timeframe of BoBp, wasn't it? Perhaps training units still used it.

The L.F. version with the Merlin 50 continued to serve with front line units until 1944 I think, though in very particular roles.

Improved pilot models for existing aircraft would make a good subject for buyable DLC.  Is that a worthwhile suggestion, or does everybody think they deserve it for free?

I heard that there will be an Aussie pilot modeled; he'll be holding a really big knife and grinning.

You can spot them by the fact they are flying upside down.

The Aussies will have a 6 of Fosters beside them...

 

 

It would be great to change pilot models or at least customize? like BoB..

With a totally different engine, wing & canopy it's hardly the same plane.

Not only that, I would wish that the "old" models would not only get a lift but also things like breathing masks (after all you can already hear them breathing over them). I would also like to see other uniforms for the bomber crews. Maybe we are lucky and after the base plate the developers might have time to give them a facelift.

t would be interesting if they loaded the pilot model based on the aircraft's nationality rather than tying the model directly to the plane.

The LF Vc with Merlin 50M/55M served with the RAF and the French until the cessation of hostilities - mostly in the Med theatre - but these usually had the later elevator, 6-stub exhausts and other features which at first glance would make it hard to distinguish from a Mk. IX.

If I remember correctly, one dev diary or another said they would eventually go back and redo the old ones. Eventually.

The VB was also used until sometime in 1945 in some air sea rescue units such as 278 and 277 squadrons. Not in the area that the game is concerned with though I believe.
