here is my attempt at landing a crippled he111.

One question I had is it ever ok in a he111 to land with the tail wheel first?

High and hot... ?

I mean its probably not great for the plane but at that point its not like it isn't already damaged anyway.

Hitting the ground tail wheel first happens to me occasionally and I suspect it could be taken as an indication of a poor landing.

But the Luftwaffe required pilots make three point landings anyway so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Could be but then any landing that didn't kill the pilot is also a good one as well, eh? The fact that the Luftwaffe actually punished pilots who DIDN'T 3-point is just one of them things and I guess it could be said that it DID encourage better practice overall (not 'practice overalls'!!). The pilot should've been court-martialled for flying in circles above the AA so low down anyway!!!

To be honest I'm surprised you had ANY wheels left to land on!! :rtfm:;)

When I land with one engine if I go slow the wing with the engine out tends to tip down and stall. One question I have is did they land faster when they had an engine out?

A conventional propeller-driven twin-engined aircraft with a dead engine will typically lose directional control at above its level-flight stall speed, so yes, you need to keep the speed up until you can cut back on the power to the remaining engine(s) on final approach - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimum_control_speeds. As for what exactly the safe minimum control speed (Vmc in modern terminology) is for a He 111, I'm not sure but it is well over the stall speed. The obvious sign that you are getting close is the amount of rudder needed to fly straight, so if you find yourself getting close to full rudder deflection cut back the power to the remaining engine and push the nose down hard. Once you have regained a safe speed you can add power again, but keep the speed up.
