cardboard_killer Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 There's an x-plane flyer who's getting out the hobby near me. He has for sale the MFG crosswind and is asking $250. I was thinking of buying the VKB MkIV for about $220 new. Right now, I don't even use pedals and never have (I know, I suck). I like buying quality, but the cost is high on my income; also, I assume if anything goes wrong with the used MFGs I will not get any support from the company. Anyway, can anyone help me make a decision? Is $250 high for used pedals? Is the extra $30 worth it over the VKB? the MFG Crosswind has the extra cams and also the brackets for extended width. Hope to buy this weekend before I talk myself out of it.
69th_Panp Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Buy them quickly !!! Best set of pedals I've ever used and I've used them almost every day since I bought them. Never had any issue or problems and I was the 67 person to buy them (serial number 0067) 1
dburne Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 MFG Crosswinds are great pedals and would be well worth the price - likely will never have anything go wrong with those but an understandable concern. I don't think I have ever seen a post from a Crosswind user that had a problem develop with them. The new VKB's would be good also. Make note of the two different style of pedals and movement, Crosswinds are heel on pedals with toe brakes.

VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Post when you find out. I am not sure if you have had dealings yet with Milan, the owner of MFG, but if you had any issues with the pedals I am sure he would help you solve them.

I believe that MFG will sell replacement parts, in the rare case of something broken. With traditional brands, outside of warranty is basically "good luck".
cardboard_killer Posted September 24, 2019 Author Posted September 24, 2019 So, the seller agreed to 335 USD shipped for the MFGs along with his CH yoke and throttle quadrant (got to have a yoke to fly that P-38!). I'm still a bit unclear on v1 or v2, but I just wanted to do the deal before the next update. I think I could have beat him up more on the price, but I'm not a great haggler when I want something.
Alonzo Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 That seems like a pretty good deal, lots of kit for the money.

This video explains the difference between v1 and v2.
