This is my graphics test from a popular benchmark tool. I thought I could get better performance in VR but still getting around 40 fps any ideas. The system is all over clocked 5.3 ghz on the processor all cores and 2100 mhz on the graphic cards all liquid cooled system.329286184_testshowcase(2).thumb.PNG.2ff2db3d11c1fd6a0864ab9220fdfc9c.PNG

Don't go any higher than 2x on AA.

Set in Nvidia Control Panel " Prefer Maximum Performance" for IL-2.

Make sure vsync is unchecked in IL-2 graphics settings, and fps to unlimited.

What VR headset do you have ?

How are you setting your SS ?

Rift s. Sometimes it's at 80 but if any plane is near it's instant drop, as for 2 aa it's 4 aa. Just for comparison Elite dangerous can run at 2.0 hmd and 1.5 smaa. The visuals are incredible a completely new game. Maybe il2 engine can only be so efficient.

For what it's worth I get just over 25k on the same test with a similar system.  But I get well over 40 fps on my Reverb, average is probably mid 70s.  Are  you sure nothing is getting throttled?  You  might try lowering the overclock a bit on the CPU and GPU to see what happens.

I get great performance in IL-2 with my Rift S. I typically am between 75-80 fps. I do fly with ASW off.

You might give Open Composite a try, it will allow you to not use Steam VR.

It is a leaner process for the Rift S versus Steam VR. I certainly gained some in the performance department when I switch from Steam VR to Open Composite.
