jollyjack Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Just installed 4,56 FRESHLY downloaded, erased all the old folders and my documents related to Cliffs. Now I still get the feeling that there are some new errors, f.i. tried a Blennheim SP, and after take off i could not increase the Throttle anymore as if there's all of a sudden an RPM limit set at 300 m above ground. Must be some settings error maybe? Or else a bug? Also the flaps settings via F that worked before are not reacting anymore. Reloaded and Applied a 4,55 working confUser.ini. Same thing. Any tips? PS during installation there was nothing in the update folder .... Thnx, J.
Sokol1 Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 (edited) Your description of Blenheim problem is too vague... What "realism" settings for engine management? Flaps "via F" (toggle flaps)* is recommended only for Spitfire, because Spit flaps are full up, full down. For all other planes use "Lower flaps" and "Raise flaps" in separated keys/buttons, this fit better with incremental flaps like in Blenheim, Hurricane, Bf 109... But the command is "generic" with UP - Neutral - DOWN not follow planes specifics result that in Blenheim have a awkward: Press the button/key for down once ... and nothing happens, "HUD" say Neutral. Press the button/key for down again and now flaps start go lower, but for stop the movement in a give position, e.g. 20 degrees you need press Up button/key for stop down movement. The real operation is with two buttons, press one for start lower, release and flaps stop in actual position or full extended. Press the other for raise, release and flaps stop in the actual position or full retracted, like LaGG-3 flaps in IL-2:GB * If you insist in use "toggle flaps" - one key (F), for Blenheim the operation is, assuming that flaps are up: Press F once for see "Neutral" in "HUD" (don't ask why) Press F again for start lower flaps Press F again fast two times for reverse the movement (raise) and then stop (neutral) in e.g. 20 degrees - most time will be 22, 23 degrees. One setting is Fine Pitch or 100% in game readout, the other is Coarse Pitch or 0% in game readout. Takeoff in Fine, once you have gained enough altitude and speed, switch to Coarse. With the aircraft in Fine Pitch, you won't be able to gain maximum speed safely.... you will also over-rev the engines and destroy them. 1
jollyjack Posted September 18, 2019 Author Posted September 18, 2019 (edited) No, i wasn't ... probably too lazy to read the manuals as usual. Also i cannot find why i can't open the bomb doors, and drop loaded bombs anymore in the Blennheim and BR 20M. Thanx, J Edited September 18, 2019 by jollyjack

Blenheim bomb doors is not controlled by pilot or bombardier, but by the weight of bombs. The doors is keep closed by bungee ropes and open momentarily when bombs fall. https://youtu.be/sWOmkFi-HP8?t=54 In Br.20 is need open the bomb bay doors first, check you key assignments. 1
jollyjack Posted September 18, 2019 Author Posted September 18, 2019 (edited) Hi Sokol. I remember you saying something before about rubber bands LoL. But there are no bombs loaded, i checked the Full Mission Builder, bombs are set to load in the player's Blennheim. But even using loadout there are none loaded. With the BR20 you can open the doors alright, and the bomb bays are empty. This is the same for a Heinkel 111 .... Just came across this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/754530/discussions/0/1620599015873915441/ Might be an un-fixable bug then? PS i was just trying that Sealion Mission, looks promising, but hey, no use without bombs on the RAF side. I remember i was using bombs before with a Blennheim in Cliffs 4.55. - BTW nice find, that video ... PS 2, reading the manual p59 and p60 says something about loading and saving presets, in the plane's Loadout page. Switched on 'Realistic Bombing', but the Bomb page Preset Selection still blanks out: The weapons in store also shows 'Empty' regarding bombs: Edited September 18, 2019 by jollyjack added info
Sokol1 Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Other than for select skin and adjust convergence Plane Loadout Options don't work in Single Player - before 4.55 sometimes work, sometimes no. You can load bombs, fuel and change ammo belts in FMB and in online server, when click in "Create a Plane" (in fact a flight).
Sokol1 Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 (edited) "CSI" this again. If fact set Loadout (bombs, fuel, ammo) in GUI work... "in CloD way!". In Main menu > Option > Plane you can select bombs to Blenheim (or other planes suitable for carry bombs) in Weapon sets tab. Bombs tab should be called "FUSES" because there you just set fuses type and timer. What don't work anymore (work up to 4.312) is if type a name for this loadout e.g. 250x4, 500x2... although this names appear there in Plane: This names don't appear under plane picture in Quick Mission main screen - see bellow. But if save your loadout overwriting the already existing "Custom" name, his option became available in Quick Mission menu, is the first Custom - no idea why the second, but is empty. And now the good news: "Houston, we have bombs!". * BTW - Single and Campaign missions don't have this option - is what was defined by mission maker. Edited September 18, 2019 by Sokol1 1
jollyjack Posted September 18, 2019 Author Posted September 18, 2019 (edited) Hey Man, thanks for your extensive answer. Much appreciated ! Obrigado ! PS i tried FMB, set bombs there to the player plane, a Blennheim, but couldn't get it to work from there. Guess I'll try it again your way, have to figure out that online business first, later .... Sokol1 Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 (edited) In FMB is the same thing, select (bombs, fuel, ammo), click in SAVE and overwrite "custom" (I don't try with other name), that work OK. Perhaps you just click in OK after select and this don't save the loadout. Edited September 18, 2019 by Sokol1 1
jollyjack Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 (edited) Hi Sokol. That did it !!! Single Play, used a new name saving, in this case Sealion2a, Custom works too ... Obrigado !! Edited September 19, 2019 by jollyjack
