jollyjack Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Instrument panel overlay: i found the simple overlay in GB for speed and height a very practical thing, and would like to see something similar in Cliffs instead of the large scale lot of instruments shown in Cliffs. Is there any way of modding the Cliffs view a little, like setting only speed and height as being visible?

jollyjack Posted September 16, 2019 Author Posted September 16, 2019 (edited) yep ... cliffs, but with a cockpit might me handy too, looking at the small meters you'll miss that 109 shooting at you ... : (i would like to see this option, no cockpit view, in GB too ....) Sokol1 Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 (edited) I guess he want the il-2:46 digital "Speed bar" ("borrowed" from EAW) - that show speed, height and HDG, see at left, lower corner. Quote Is there any way of modding the Cliffs view a little, like setting only speed and height as being visible? For offline use in CloD there's a script called "FrogBar" that put this on screen, look in SimHQ. http://simhq.com/forum/files/usergals/2011/07/full-14230-15987-1.jpg https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3347984/Re_Is_it_possible_to_make_airs.html#Post3347984 An alternative is use Devicelink Virtual Cockpit (don't know if working in 4.56), that can show this kind info in second monitor, tablet, smartphone, in analog or digital mode, or both. Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted September 16, 2019 Team Fusion Posted September 16, 2019 Hello Jollyjack At the moment we don't plan this for TF 5.0 or CoD Blitz. Will talk to the coders... if this is easy to incorporate we will do it for TF 5.0. If not, will have to wait for the future... there are still many elements to be completed by the coders which are higher on the list. Most people who fly Blitz prefer full cockpit and as much realism as possible, so we are more focused on that... along with things like improved clouds/weather/dust effects/etc. etc.

Personally I don't need neither like this feature, but will be a smart move add this like in 1946, since will please a big crowd - probable the majority of single players. Just make like in IL-2 1946, with option for select between see Speed, Height and HDG and only HDG - what in 1946 are used in "full realism" servers, like is in Wings of Liberty, the most popular MP server of IL-2:GB. I bet that HDG on screen will became popular in CloD MP, due the difficulties/lack (Lubber Line) for read British compass in the game. Edited September 16, 2019 by Sokol1
jollyjack Posted September 17, 2019 Author Posted September 17, 2019 (edited) Hi Guys. Below are 2 pics, to show you what i mean: the bar in the lower left corner. I am not a die hard 'reality' player; i just like to be a tourist and occasionally precision bomb the hell out of 'game's fun'. Eagerly waiting for BP, my hometown is there it seems, and maybe the local tax office too LoL. In Cliffs it's quite harder to maintain speed and altitude in what ever view selected, and the cockpit on always takes off the nice views partly taken by the nicely done instruments you can't look at anyway when you're in a dog fight situation .... and for reality's sake, hey, it's a computer game ... VR might be a great thing for us tourists too, but at the costs i would first like too have some hands on experience with it first. Me thinks a VR headset looks quite stupid IMO, that electronic blindfold device, and you won't even notice a real mosquito landing on your nose while 'flying' that in VR on Bodenplatte. PS just bought FC1 as also Bodenplatte in support of the Good Cause IL*2. Compared to the pricing of DCS we all should be proud and supportive towards 1c games' efforts, and keep the goodies coming. I would welcome some more peaceful ' mission' options however like dropping & picking up spies or troops, medical flights, firefighting; sometimes this dog fighting and bombing business only is just too much for a pacifist like me ...
