Considering the fact that: Both FC1 and TC were both released into EA at the same time (July 2018), they’re both being made by 3rd party teams, both the maps are the same dimensions, 100km x 100km, the FC1 planes are being refurbished using existing models made by 777/1CGS from 2009-2014.

Is making and releasing 10 planes ( which we can already fly on Rise of Flight and have the same if not, very similar experience) really more important than a suitable map that we can fly over? True. We’re still doing that with the Bodenplatte aircraft, but for the planes and the map, the devs are essentially starting from scratch. The Bodenplatte map may be released in the upcoming September patch, if not, then the next patch. With Tank Crew (who are also starting from scratch) they still have 4 more tanks to release, while the map was released back in March. Now that the Prokhorovka map has been released, work has begun on the campaigns.

The only we saw images of the Arras map was in DD #217 back in February and I believe that just covered the city area.

I feel that Ugra Media should have released a few planes, then mainly focused on the map and released it, and then released the remaining FC1 planes. Essentially what they did with Tank Crew- Clash at Prokhorovka.

Cheers.

Infinitely more important. Other than to fanatical purists, historical accuracy of terrain ought to be irrelevant an aerial-combat game. Those who think the Arras map is going to bring a surge in popularity to FC, are ...........

I would argue it's not as much about the physical terrain as it is about the specific ground objects like WW1 vehicles, walking infantry (I hope) and AAA guns that should come with the Arras Map that wil remove some integration problems that exist when pitting the ww1 aircraft against ww2 ground objects...

I'm also expecting a really nice west front terrain, forests, hills, rivers and groves, something we don't currently have. Balloons and airfield buildings as well.

Yeah guys it's pretty fun and it's also helping to work out the kinks in the mission builder for the J5 gays.

Am I high, or the Bodenplatte and Arras maps are "contiguous" ?

Is this a coincidence, or they are planing something ?

Does the Bodenplatte area have some interest for WW1 ? Because the No mans Land is further to the south ...

Maybe had to do with initial "base layer" from the looks of that pic.

They've been working on BP map for some time now right? Probably "easier" to carve out Arras sector from original BP map area and edit that one into WW1 as opposed to creating whole new area like Argonne or Verdun.

Just speculation.

FC map is British part of the Front. More or less.

I think the frontlines may have reached BoB map in fall 1918.
