What BOM Russian suaqdron only have air superiotiy missions?

So I am starting 2 new simultaneous career in BOM (one a fighter  and one an Il2 pilot ).    I did have a cuple of these careers going from several months ago, but decided to start over yesterday since its been so long I have played IL2.  

 

 

So last night I started a MiG-3 Career (also what timeline  will the P40 be available in BOM  )  and I selected a fight squadron but so far 50-75% of the missions are actually air to ground missions.   I started an Il2 career  to mirror each other so I don't want to repeat missions from one plane to the next.

 

 

What Russia squadrons (would it be Air defence?) actually give a majority of air superiority/bomber intercept/escort missions?  When I did start fighter and Il2  careers last year I  am certain the vast majority of my fighter missions were intercept type missions.

 

It's nice to be back and do love how the game has evolved.

If you find one with PVO in its name I'd suggest you go with that one.

Still getting fighter-bomber missions you should drop your expectation of such a campaign experience.

There is no one kind of mission. You do what they tell you to. (he111 career will just tell you to bomb everything ? ).

 

But you can play as leader and simply assign yourself to missions you want and your people to missions that you don't want to fly. Also PWCG career mod should let you pick preferred missions. But I am not 100% sure.

This is relatively historical for the squadrons involved in the defense of Moscow. If they needed a bomber intercept, they sent them on bomber intercepts, if they needed a strafing run on some vehicles, they'd do that too. Times were desperate and they were throwing everything they had at everything.

The ones that suck are when you're in a 109 squadron and keep getting ground attack missions.

 

Though I'll take those over the endless bomber escort missions I'm getting in Kuban.
