356thFS_Melonfish Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Hi chaps, My Gladiator MKII is out for delivery today, I'm like a dog with the zoomies, I just want to run round the living room. Anyway, my query is this, for current owners, are there any sensitivity settings used within IL2 or are you guys using it stock? i.e. no curves. my current t16000m is a decent stick but i've had to really mess with the sensitivity to get her relatively smooth, though obviously i'm still not happy, hence the gladiator. Thanks! Pete 1
-332FG-Gordon200 Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I had many years of faithful service from my Gladiator MkII. I don't think you'll be disappointed. The center point is well defined and I didn't fell the need to dial in much of a curve in game. The base has a tension adjustment that does a good job for pitch and roll. The twist rudder is smooth with a small dead zone. Strongly recommend you consider desk mounts such as these from Monstertech - https://www.monstertech.de/en/product/joystick-hotas-table-mount/ or Virpil (limited stock) - https://virpil-controls.eu/catalogsearch/result/?q=+Desk+Mount 1

WallysWorld Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 (edited) Same as ITAF_Rani: no curves. For my type of flying, the Mk.II is great. It also has a good base on it and the MK.II doesn't slide on my Corsair MM300 extended gaming mat so I didn't consider getting a mount for it. Edited September 6, 2019 by WallysWorld 1
ITAF_Rani Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 (edited) But if you want try something curves try this I have found. Make a test.. Oyster-kai suggest: my stick : VKB gladiator mkII Very easy for accurate moving, landing ,aiming,or taxing. Pitch: -------------- Sens: 90 Dead Center: 0 Dead Edge: 0 Roll: -------------- Sens: 36 Dead Center: 0 Dead Edge: 0 Yaw: -------------- Sens: 36 Dead Center: 0 Dead Edge: 0 Noise filter :0.01 (not sure it is work?) If the quick responce plane (ex yak) is not too sensativity , the other plane will be OK,YES!! IL-2 BOS sereis is so Awesome!!! Edited September 6, 2019 by ITAF_Rani 1
von_Michelstamm Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 if it feels too loose, id recommend taking the base off and putting small rubber bands (or cut off balloon knots) over the spring mounts. Don't order gunfighter springs, they wont fit. Don't overdo it or you might damage them. I went back to a bit of sensitivity on my gunfighter (let alone a gladiator), it really helps line up shots. Don't forget to trim your elevator! 1

But I have IL2:GB uninstalled now as I have ordered a new computer and will install it once I get the new one up and running.

( Springs are very soft - so how can you adjust the tension ? ) Edited September 6, 2019 by esk_pedja
Sokol1 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Neither me, VKB Gladiator Mk.II "vanilla" (non PRO) came with conventional plastic gimbal and expansion springs. Gunfighter MK.II gimbal is that have adjustments, the "dry clutch".
