As a metalsmith I used to share studio space with a bunch of furniture makers back in the day.  They used to joke that deep down I was just a frustrated carpenter.

For laughs just before I left I made a ring in homage to the most-borrowed tool in the place...

As a kid in wood shop, I learned how to make some pretty good trapezoids with a Stanley plane.
