HERCJG54 Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Hello Just bought BOK two days ago and I was looking forward to fly "Great battles" after many years of IL2 46 Every thing is OK for loading the game and prepare a quick mission but as soon as I click on the start button to go into the cockpit a message of Windows "error 0x0800F0831" appears several times and after a few seconds my PC quit and reboot. I have tried to install the game many times but when it comes to .NET and Direct X I have got the following messages of Windows (cf pictures) I have checked many forums but not found a solution and the explanations of Microsoft of "error 0x0800F0831" are better for an ingeenner than for me. Any clue for me? my installation is AMD 8300 3.3 GHz 16GB RAM NVIDIA GTX 1060 Windows 10 Many thanks HERCJG54 French IL2 fan 1
TheOldCrow Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Sorry to ask but could you translate what those errors in the pictures say? I'd love to try and help but I don't speak French lol.
JG7_X-Man Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 I would run Sfc /scannow (copy paste in CMD admin level) Press the Windows key + X to open the Win + X menu. Click Command Prompt (Admin) to open the Command Prompt as an administrator. When Command Prompt opens, enter "sfc /scannow" "without quotes" and press Enter. The repair process will now start 1
HERCJG54 Posted September 5, 2019 Author Posted September 5, 2019 Thanks for the replies After having scanned many forums I found that the "error 0x800F0831" was referenced to the "classical" NET Framework 3.5 problem I spent three days applying all the tutorials found on the subject but all the solutions proposed have failed on my computer I can't even open the window "windows features" which stays desperately blank (see picture below) Perhaps I have to install again windows 10 to solve the problem but I have all the versions off IL2 46 (VP mod pack, BAT, 4.14, Y pack ....) on my computer (more than 200 GB) The sfc/scannow command does not work even as admin level via "Power shell" Thanks anyway Perhaps a miracle will occur in the future!!! HERCJG54 Still flying with pleasure on IL2 46
TheOldCrow Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I'd say a fresh install is probably the best idea if nothing else is working. And you should be able to grab all the files from 46 and put them on a flash drive to copy in after reinstalling
jollyjack Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 Remove DotNET, and reinstall it via the Great Battles installer?
