Unable to update

Haven't flown for a few weeks as I was awaiting Oculus to fix their update to continue to support W7 - which they have now done.

 

A few days back I went launch IL2 but when fetching update there was no download and all I get is 'Installation Failed' message after a few minutes. I have tried it several times over last few days with same result.

 

Interestingly it shows the d/l at 0k/s. I have successfully updated DCS and my other games and this is the only one I am having trouble with.

 

It is a non-Steam version.

Check out this update forum post. 

 

Offhand, I would delete my Updates folder and try again.

If you have 'failed to update' message in the launcher (if you're using non-Steam version), please close it, navigate to the installation folder of the game and open bin\game folder. There are files named launcher.exe and rofuplib64.dll - please replace them with the ones from the link below (unzip them first of course), then run the launcher again and it should work fine. Sorry for inconvenience!

Hi Thad,

Had just found that post .. (maybe I should have looked harder) and have done as it and you suggested. Deleted Updates Folder contenets ands it now seems to be updating.

I have had this same problem (failed to update) - which occurred when downloading the 3.201 "hotfix" today.

 

I have tried deleting the "UPDATES" folder as well as substituting the 2 files suggested by Thad (above - 25 August 2019).

 

The launcher "analyses", then "downloads" (539.08 MB), and then starts the install before bombing out and giving the error message "Failed to update".

 

Has anyone else experienced this with the "hotfix" update?

 

Any suggestions before I do a fresh download of the whole flight sim again?

Hello, thank you for this solution, but it does not work, the problem is not solved, always the message "error update" there is there another repair option?

ok ,solution …. uninstal and re-install ….. ahhahahah and work ok !!!

I had issues after 3.201 as well...tried all the fixes mentioned previously- had to go with the full re-install last night and am back on track.  It's a bit of a pain- but when all else fails...
