To my knowledge, no formal No.56 squadron exists, although I'm sure that somebody was trying to start it up not too long ago in RoF. I'll see if I can get in touch and find out if he's active in FC

A chap named 56Sqn_Badger was trying to kick it off last I saw. I sent him a PM on the RoF Forums. Who knows, perhaps it's WW?

We have a 56 RAF sqn flying in BoX and eagerly waiting for the Tempest which 56 flew but only one of us,Talisman, owns Flying Circus.   I would love to but cannot afford it.

Keeping my hand in with the SE5a whilst waiting for the Western front map and more populated MP servers.  Enjoyed the Friday night FC fur-ball event, but it seems to have stalled

 

Sunday night our squad flies WWII, so I can't take part in Sunday night WW1 FC fur-ball event.  

 

I have flown missions on WW1 FC MP servers with squad mates, including 56RAF_Lats.  Flew FC MP last week, but servers are empty, so only AI for opposition, sadly.

 

We have 9 active 56 Sqn RAF virtual members at the moment and more resting, but not all are taking part in FC at the moment.  However; when we get the proper Western front map for FC, that may change as I plan to do a lot of FC flying then and would be happy to team up with any like minded PC pilots for a regular WW1 squad night and other sorties during the week on an ad hoc basis.

 

Many of our Squad members have been in virtual-on-line-combat for years, way back to the old DOS Air Warrior days, through Air Warrior for Windows, Aces High, the original IL2, CloD, DCS, RoF and now IL-2 GB/FC.  Our squad nights are run on Sunday and Wednesday evenings, European time zone. 

 

We are a friendly, helpful bunch and we often meet up in RL.  We have been involved in organising/Leading/running scenarios over the years and put up our own MP server when need be.  We are based on the real 56 Squadron RAF.  We have our own Teamspeak server and try to improve comms and co-operation wherever we fly.  3 of our members fly VR (2 x Index and 1 x Pimax 5k+).

 

For me, I see the future as lots of historical 56 Sqn RAF flying in the Tempest V with BoBP in MP and historical flying in the SE5a with FC Western front map in MP too.  Additionally, we are likely to continue flying Russian aircraft on the Eastern front IL-2 GB maps and taking the opportunity to fly bomber missions (mixed with fighter escort) to support map objectives across the board.  We also have a couple of squad members who have been specialising in German fighters, but lets not talk about that, LOL.  

 

Personally, I am very much looking forward to lots of flying with IL-2 GB/FC over the coming years (I fly almost every evening of the week) and am very much looking forward to the developers future projects, including the WWII Pacific theatre.

When do you fly?  What TS3 server do you like to use (official BoS server)?  We could join up next week: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat.

Great!  I should be up from about 19.00 to 22.00 hrs.  If you install TS3 I suggest we meet up on the official BoS server.  I will be flying on one of the FC MP servers if they are up.
