BadBud Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 If my PC died tomorrow with IL-2 Great Battles and all associated purchase info, how would I recover and reload IL-2 GB on a new PC? BadBud
-LUCKY-ThanksSkeletor Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 (edited) It's all tied to your account, you would only lose your settings, skins and mods. As long as you still have your account information you will always have IL2 available to download. To do this just sign into the IL2 website and download the launcher. Lusekofte Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 That is the easy part. You go in your profile log in and install
blitze Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 If it wasn't your hard drive that died, you could always after setting up your new computer and installing Il2 - transfer the old install of Il2 over the new install. Then all your settings would be there and any other things you have modified the original copy you had. Just plug old drive into new computer, look for the install folder and copy it over the new Il2 install. Take it you kept info of your Il2 login?
ADorante Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 I can confirm blitze's information: I transfered my IL-2 directory on its physical SSD from one computer to another and it worked. I only had to make a new link on the desktop of my new computer. Account information and passwords can be stored safely into a password manager. It's advisable to backup its encrypted datafile regularly to other physical storage media.
wombatBritishBulldogs Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Just start from scratch ? It takes but one hour and does not drag any crap from saved files to your New Operating Systems
