Spitfire Mk. Vb Merlin 45M modifications

Dear Jason et al.

 

I wish to propose a possible modification for the Spitfire Mk Vb, namely the Merlin 45M variant.

Whilst this engine wasn´t provided to the USSR, it would enable us to use them in fictitious or more western mid war scenarios.

It would boost performance of the plane considerably at lower altitudes, thus increasing its viability against planes as the Bf 109 F4.

 

I know it´s not much, but here´s what I have found on the performance of the 45M 

 

 

 

It seems like the engine used 18+ lbs of boost instead of 16+ lbs, but was otherwise pretty much a 45 with cropped impeller for low altitude performance.

I think it would make the plane way more popular with people, thus increase the likelyhood of it being bought as a collector plane.
