I hope I have posted this in the right place.  If not feel free to move or delete.

A friend of mine has an unusual problem with the views in only two planes from Battle of Kuban.
(He has Battle of Stalingrad and Battle of Kuban.)
The planes in question are the Spitfire Vb and the Bf-110E-2.

Spitfire problem:
The 'default' view from the cockpit is hard left over the shoulder looking at the left rear tailplane.  *See attached*.  Using Numpad 5 does not snap the view ahead/centered.  Neither does using the joystick button he has set for the same function.  He uses TrackNoIR and cannot use his head to come full forward.  It stalls about ten o'clock.

Bf-110 problem:
Default view has him looking at the gauges, not over them.  He cannot raise his head high enough with head tracking.  The game default Up/Down arrow keys do not raise/lower his head at all.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
These are the only two planes this happens in and these anomalies are specific to each plane.  i.e. there are no view direction issues in the 110 and he can raise and lower his head in the Spitfire.  All other planes in both editions work normally.

What He Has Tried:
Reset the Key Mapping to default.  Default keys still do not work.
Delete and reload the game from Steam.  The same issues occur.

Any ideas on what is happening here?
Thanks in advance.

Manually adjust your view and press F10 to store that as the new default view.

Thanks for the suggestion sevenless.

That is part of the problem.  Both the Spitfire looking back and the 110 low seat position can't be adjusted manually or any other way.  The devices (HOTAS/Head Tracker) cannot give the desired view.  In the case of the Spitfire the head tracker tracks but not far enough to move the view to center forward.  In the 110 using the head tracker does not allow him to see over the gauge cluster.  Plus the default keys don't act as intended even after he re-downloaded the game from Steam.

And again, these problems do not exist in any other plane in BoS/BoK.  In the rest of the planes he has no problem centering his cockpit view or raising or lowering his head.

when nothing will work , just delete the map updates ( in your main folder ) en restart the game..i know for sure that this is the solution

Sorry for being daft but where are the "map updates" found?  Obviously a sub folder but which one please.

This is the better solution: go to /data/luascripts/snapviews/defaults and find the filename that corresponds to the plane you want to fix. Copy that file back into /snapviews, and you'll be good to go.

Thanks LukeFF.  I'll have him give it a try and report back.

A big THANK YOU LukeFF!  That worked flawlessly.

Actually it didn't seem to make sense to me why replacing the  file with itself would work.

We got together and compared files, my working SpitfireVb and his.  We opened the /data/luascripts/snapviews/defaults /spitfirevb.svc in Notepad and compared.  There was no difference in any line entry between my "working" file and his "faulty" file.  So I had him save his file and sent him mine.  He replaced mine with his and it worked!  We did the same with the 110E file and that solved his seat height problem.

One thing though, why did that work?  Like I said I don't understand why replacing a file with an identical file would make a difference.

So again thank you for your wise and working suggestion. ??️

I suppose the "defaults" were identical, but not the files in /snapviews folder.

So you're saying my file reset his defaults which somehow got corrupted?  That would make sense.  I didn't send the spifirevb.svc from the 'snapviews' but from 'sapviews > defaults' thus fixing the problem he had with Numpad 5 not centering his view.  OK then.  Thanks for the explanation Kemp even though I'm still foggy on the 'why' of it.  It works now, he is happy and that is what really matters.  ?

F10 fixes whatever view you have now as your 'Default' view. It is there in case you would rather be slightly lower or higher in your seat or maybe slightly sideways to line up with a gunsight better.  If you accidentally press F10 while looking over your shoulder then that becomes your new default.   The folder called 'Default' just hold original copies in case you mess yours up.   You can also just delete the offending file and the game will automatically copy over the one from the 'Default' folder.

Ahh Ha!  Thank you.  A clear and understandable explanation.  You have just made me that much smarter.
