Controls for tanks in this game are kind of mysterious to me (and tank controls in general) and looking for some ideas before i buy.
Do you use a Tiger-style wheel, or twin brake levers for steering? Any special method for rotating your turret, like a crank?
Let's see em!

With the games current controls?  It would literally be my keyboard and mouse.

I´m oogeling both Tank Crew and a cheap racing wheel.

Maybe those two would work together?

Keyboard, mouse, joystick for turning and (CH) throttle for forward, stop and reverse.

Thrustmaster FCS HOTAS.

Throttle for forward, reverse and stop. Paddles for left and right turning, Joystick (JoyToKey) Turret.

That seems pretty cool. How did you set up the joystick with j2k and how did you map it in game?

i assume pitch raises and lowers the gun, and roll rotates the turret?

I’d like to know, too, Thad. Thanks.

Yep, would be interested to know that, too. i have downloaded Joy2Key, but did not know, how to use it.

Doesn't it conflict with flying, when you use the stick for movings, usually done by the mouse?

JoyToKey is pretty straight forward to use. You in effect assign the games mouse and keyboard controls to your joystick.

JoyToKey  Information

In the settings, I assigned the paddles to the left and right cursor controls section.

I Saved a copy of my aircraft 'input' file.

I then made a separate Tank 'input' file and placed it in my mods folder. When I want to go tanking I activate it.

This setup just feels more realistic to me. Albeit, I have to admit that it is slightly more difficult than using the mouse. Still, I like it.
