Zeev Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 (edited) Just did my first Career mission for Battle of Moscow. Took me nearly 2 hours to fly in formation, 200~ KM. Are all the missions so long? Edited August 9, 2019 by Zeev
von_Michelstamm Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 (edited) what unit are you flying with? I fly 109s with JG52, and missions are overwhelmingly 25-30 minutes now. And that's starting on the runway, not in the air. I think there's maybe been a mission or two that took longer, but I don't think i've ever had a 2hr mission. It really depends on how far away your unit's airbase is from the objective. Come to think of it, there were a few longer missions early on when we were far away from the front, but eventually your unit rebases closer to the action. Edited August 9, 2019 by von_Michelstamm

After reading on Steam forums I understand you can pickup a closer airfield to the frontline. Is it possible only when restarting the career? Other questions: 1. What do you get with the money or experience you get for completing the missions? 2. What happens if some one dies in your squad? Are they being replaced with infinite reinforcements of pilots or should I be careful in missions to save as much friendly AI as possible?

von_Michelstamm Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Stick with it. Depending on a unit, things change 8 minutes ago, Zeev said: Unit 27 USSR. No, you can transfer to other units at closer airbases within the area of operations. 1. buy borscht 2. Pilots are replaced, along with aircraft. Being careful with their lives is mainly for immersion. Don't stress about it too much, sometimes they do dumb things to get themselves killed.

FPS is always stable but the accelaration not. In any case it seems that you gave mega super cool CPU. Im not so lucky

CAFulcrum Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Go with ptomnik squadron once the pocket closes, most missions are more or less instant action and it gets more intense as the pocket closes. It's usually helpful to look at how close the squadron is to the front lines as the career progresses at the initial timeline where you choose your squad. Some are positioned way back.. You can change squadrons by transferring on the map portion of the career as well.

Are all the missions so long? If we look at the duration of B17 escort missions during WWII carried with P51 with drop tanks, it would be much more than two hours. But interception missions on the channel during the Battle of Britain were pretty short in time. In the pacific were you had very long periods above water sometimes pilots had to be careful not just to fall asleep.
