Hellow, Sorry for my english.

I m using PWCG 6.1.2. and when I create PWCG mission I start it.

But there is only message and cart-wheel mouse cursor "loading, please wait"

When I start mission (already made in default), mission is normaly loaded and map is displayed.

I'm using windows 10 pro (1903 ver) and Old Saitek x-55 pro stick.

When I m using PWCG 3.3.2 version, there were no problem

Please help.

IIRC since version 5 PWCG needs longer for loading, because the files are larger. The mission report files are twice as big as they were before, however I do not know if they are directly related to the files the mission needs for loading (I simply do not know enough about computer stuff)

The missions taking 4-5 minutes to load is pretty normal for me at least and I'm running on an SSD.

I have not timed it but it definitely takes a few minutes.  Worse, the progress bar goes to complete in about 30 seconds, leaving you with the impression that the process is hung.  Itis not, just need to wait.

 

Something that I have wanted to do but have not yet done is to look into creating binary versions of the file.  That would help a little but would not be a cure all.

 

Other than that I'm afraid the answer is "include less stuff" which means less happening on the ground, less scenery, etc.

I just created a PW 6.1.3 mission. Indeed takes a while for loading; but i activated a lot of items for a bombing run.

 

But i found that A (Autopilot) and Time Scale were not working (only slowing to 1/2 and 1/4 did). I noticed that before with other home made missions from users.

Is that a general thing, or editable somewhere? Both functions work OK in a 'standard demo' mission from IL2.

Performance of a PWCG mission - or any mission from any source - is all about how much content is in the mission vs. your CPU.  PWCG can (and would like to) put the whole world into every mission.  That usually doesn't turn out very well, so there is a lot of code to try to intelligently cut down on things.  

 

Some of the things that might be in a PWCG mission:

Flights of aircraft.  How many is configurable.  

Many bomber aircraft depending on which flights got kept.

Battles on the ground  - possibly large ones depending on configs

Ambient ground units like trains and truck convoys.

 

Going High air and High ground is going to put in enough content to choke just about any computer.  I usually use low air and medium ground on my 3 year old Digital Storm.

Yeah. Tried modding a few things, like removing un-necessities like fires, but i'll have to find out more about the ME ins and outs first .. thnx
