Happens all the time.

 

My local beach last year;

Here in SoCal, small planes making emergency landings on all sorts of roads, highways, etc., is almost a regular occurance.

My dad worked many years at the Eugene (Oregon) Airport. Even this area has had such occurrences. 

 

My dad said the funniest part is when they would "taxi" back to the airport via a few different roads/parking lots ect. lol
