Hello, I am having a super frustrating issue with trying to join a server run by a friend for co-op. I am unable to host because of this ridiculous port forwarding needed and now suddenly I can't join either.

Whenever I attempt to join the game will load completely, but instead of me being deposited into the lobby, I am booted straight back to the multiplayer co-op/dpgfight screen with no error, no notification. I could join fine last week once my friend opened the necessary ports, but when I was trying to do the same suddenly I couldn't even create a co-op lobby without this issue happening. He could never join without the game crashing because of the ports. I've since reversed all router changes and even reset back to factory settings and can again create a lobby but not join one.

I am currently reinstalling the game but my hopes on that working are pretty low. Anybody have any idea what the hell is going on?

Tell your friend to try resaving the mission and rerunning it. By "non-dedicated servers" I assume that you mean a server started from Il-2 rather than DServer.

Sorry, I can't help you with port forwarding. Some people seem to require more open ports than others. The basic requirement is 28000 TCP/UDP and 28100 UDP. Search the Il-2 forum for "port forward" and see if anyone else's experience helps.

It is not the mission, it happens every single time, no matter the mission. It is also not an issue of ports.

E: To clarify, I don't care about hosting anymore, it is probably not possible because of this backwards ass system and my connection not being compatible, I just want to be able to join my friends game which should be possible without any port forwarding since it worked alrwady earlier.

Yup, neither reinstalling nor resaving the missions helped anything. This is ridiculously frustrating.
