adler_1 Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 (edited) I designated X as the key and sure enough it lowers my head to see the coordinates but then its stuck there , it does'nt go back to default view . I have to use other keys i use for the view to get back up and center the gunsight reticle . Is there another key which will bring it back up immediately ? Edited July 22, 2019 by dog1
Dakpilot Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 I think there are three different modes that your views are controlled, one of them will give you a momentary look, these are controlled by one of the F buttons check out the manual for further info Cheers, Dakpilot
adler_1 Posted July 22, 2019 Author Posted July 22, 2019 there is nothing in the user manual about key assignments for any off the aircrafts .
Sokol1 Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 (edited) Use the default "snap view" for compass - each planes has this view adjusted for their compass, minus in Spitfire, there don't see compass (wrong modeled) neither DG, but DG is visible just lowering default view a bit. Is KeyPad Del. Press Del seem compass (and other instruments), release camera moves back for default view front. For whatever reason this controls is not re-mappable, so if want set in joystick button, need use external keymapper for joy button press KeyPad Del. Hint: Test KeyPad Del + KeyPad # keys for other snaps. Edited July 22, 2019 by Sokol1
adler_1 Posted July 23, 2019 Author Posted July 23, 2019 SOKOL 1 thank you for the tips , i got it working now with with snap view key Z and home to center gunsight again .
56RAF_Roblex Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Not sure why so many people are agreeing that you cannot set a momentary view to look at your compass. There *is* a section in the manual (page 40) describing how to set any view you want to any key you want (except NP5 I think) and you can set a key to look at the compass on each separate aircraft only while holding the key down and when you let go it reverts to your default view. I used to have a key set to lower my head and look at the instruments of the I-16 that are invisible in normal; view. I had another set up to lean out and look at the wing mounted fuel gauges on the Yak. In both cases as soon as I let go of the key it returned to normal view. Did I misunderstand the question?
Brano Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 I usually check watch, sun position and terrain features to navigate. Compass is for faint-hearted ? 1
adler_1 Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 (edited) ROBLEX Quote There *is* a section in the manual (page 40) which manual is that section ? is it this one ? Edited July 24, 2019 by dog1
Sokol1 Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 (edited) Yes, see "Creating a Snap View" in the right side of image. By default Numpad 1-9 have pre-defined "snap views" angles , that basically are useful for people who want play the game only with keyboard. You can re-map this snap views for something more use full for you , e.g. "zoom at gunsight," or "look at compass", "look fuel gauge in wing" (of some planes). Snap view = pilot head/vision moves back for previous position after the mapped key is released, then instead use two joy buttons or keys for "look at compass", just need use one. But you should not need to press 'Home' to get back. It should return as soon as you let go of the key. I wonder if you skipped 'Step1' where it tells you to use F9 to make sure you are in Snap View mode? I think the four views work as follows:- 1. Go instantly to selected view while key is held down then return when key is released. 2. Go instantly to selected view then stay there until another key is used to move the view somewhere else. 3. Move X degrees in the stated direction and stop then then move another X degrees when the key is next pressed. (not sure if X is always 45 degrees) 4. Go to selected view slowly (I think the speed can be specified) It sounds like you have mode 2 when you want Mode 1.
adler_1 Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 SNAP VIEW It does go back when released but sometimes it stops or gets stuck half way up the panel so i quickly press home to get it back up to default view . PILOT HEAD VIEW i am using delete and end for left and right view for taxiing and home in snap mode to get back to center ..
