This was alot of fun.  Frustrating playing as Russian, but satisfying being able to take a couple of the big cats out.  Hopefully in the future your server will be able to attract  many more players and make it a larger battle.   With more #'s it would be great fun !

We need more players for sure, so spread the word!? ❤️✌️

I would suggest   maybe  putting the PW in the forum here for those that would like to join.   Last week I was able to find it on the SCG  forum,  but was unable to this week.

Efront had about 20 or so players online,  might have had a few migrate

Much fun last sunday, looking forward to the next event ? Glad to play something more realistic and enemies who behave more like a unit and after military tactics and seeing a panzer platoon on the move is mighty ?

How do I get my hands on the password? I'd like to attend but I can't find any information anywhere. This sounds like a much better experience than the tank server we have now where people try to desperately justify all the exploits they love to use to "game" their way to a fake victory. Can I play red tanks too in this server? Thanks

Send a pm to Neun, and yes you can play on the russian side when we play and its more realistic and more tactics and military tactics oriented and goals and limits for the mission at hand both sides have to account for. :)

Looking forward to Sunday’s battle, last Sunday it was tough, a lot of resistance and our supply lines was stretch to the max. Ran out of Tigers so the mechanics are going to work overtime to get all battle ready for Sunday’s really ?

I will be there for sure ?
Well I lost one tiger and 2 damaged so I have volountered to help our poor repair units to fix them as our losses was indeed quite high.

This week.....rain in the forecast.  Heavy Tigers will be slipping and sliding.  Reduced visibility and Russians....dug into the woodlines.....They're going to pull back their camo and reveal their gun positions, just in time to fire....say 300 meters or so in front of you.  Those sly dogs don't give a damn about your armor thickness...they've been drinking all week and the Kommissar has a shpagina pointed at them anyways.

Todays mission was quite fun and rewarding and very immersive to play, doing a pincer attack was quite new and interesting tactic and worked well although we had tough resistance all the way and russian tanks sneaking up on us :P
Today had pretty much everything: Attacking targets and russian trying to sneak in anti tank guns behind us, Tiger tanks showing how amazing their frontal armour is, russian tanks attacking us in the flanks, reinforcements in the form of mostly panzer IV´s, IL-2 airplanes attacking us, anti tank guns breaking up our attacks, german and russian tanks sneaking on eachother and we just managed to win the battle in the last couple of minutes.

My best memory is when I sneaked west of the village of Komsomolets where the forest was located and we suspected the russians had tanks there who were killing our tanks who attacked from the east, once in the forest I sneaked up with my panzer IV and took out a few of them and advanced towards the village and there took out some more by surprising them, by doing so my fellow german tankers could get inside the village and we could secure it.

It was an enjoyable mission for sure, and we cut back on our Tiger tank reserves so the PanzerIV and III could come out and play as well.  Tetervino was taken in a pincer movement as an objective of capturing the Garrison there and some much needed transport vehicles and any other equipment we could get our hands on.  Then it was forward to smash and secure the town of Ivanovskiy and finally Komsomolets to complete the "triple play".   Some IL-2's pestering those nasty Germans and pushing them towards the woodline for cover, and the ever present...."hold your fire" till they get within 300 meters AT weapons.   What's that....4 machine guns opening up....well they can't do much damage it would seem, but they do get the blood pumping...throw in some AI tanks coming at you at that same moment and it makes for an immersive experience.

Yes, there are still some bugs, but we are working around them, and finding the games strengths.  When you can sit and play non stop for 2 hours and 45 minutes and it feels like 30 minutes, they must be doing something right.  This coming Sunday there will more than likely not be a mission up, as I'm on vacation for the week.  Maybe the guys will jump into one of the tank servers.....

Gotta say our mission yesterday was much fun and new for us long time members ?
We played on the soviet side this time and we simulated Kursk 1943, our target was to do a counter attack and retake one of our lost army bases from the german forces who last week had captured it. We had a platoon of T-34 1943 tanks divided into two groups using soviet tactics from the war with one attacking the enemy from the front and distract them while the other was flanking. We had high losses as the German defenders did a good defence, but we managed to break through and in soviet fashion: be bold when not engaged and advance fast. Encountered some Tigers and I managed to take out 2 of my own and we managed to retake the base but barely.

Was a though mission and much immersive but much fun ?
Every second week we change sides and play it semi military realistic style and its so much fun ?

Thank you Butzzell!  We appreciate your kind remarks and we had a blast as well.  3 hours went bye so fast and we still didn't make our final objective.  We will try again from the crossroads we did capture.

Can't leave our Luftwaffe out of this.....after all it is combined arms.

Sunday October 18th, 2:30 PM Eastern Time

SCG Server

Battle for Schmidt, Breakout from the Hurtgen Forest, November 2, 1944

The Americans have been bottled up in the Hurtgen Forest for weeks now and have worked their way to the eastern sections of the forest.  Difficult terrain, both in dense timber and high hills has created a terrible situation for the Americans.  Now they are poised for a push on the Village of Schmidt and some open country where their armor, artillery and air superiority can once again be brought into play.

The Germans, well they have plugged the area with determined men and material, since the battle is being waged on German soil, it's now or never.  Most know the war is all but over, but they are fighting for their families and buying time for the super weapons, or possibly the breakdown of the Allied Alliance with the Soviet Union.  The big push into the Ardennes is being planned and the Americans will soon come to realize that this war is anything but finished.

This battle will be conducted in late Autumn just before the snows that will soon blanket the area with impassable roads and record breaking freezing temperatures. The battle will begin with a consolidated American armor thrust deeper into the forest and hopefully secure a breakout into open terrain.

The 707th Tank Brigade with their Sherman tanks will assault the forward base of the 116th Panzer Division.  This base must be captured and will provide the Americans with fresh armor and supplies for their final push into Schmidt.

After this objective has been met, 3 members will switch over to the German side and defend the Village of Schmidt.  Objective number 2 will be to capture the Village of Schmidt.  However, the Americans must hold this Village for the anticipated German counter attack which will come from a reserve Zug unit which was positioned outside of town a couple of kilometers or so away.

Historically, the village was retaken by the Germans, so it's important for the 707th to hold on to the area for a victory.

The Air Combat within this mission will hopefully draw enough participants to allow for a PVP battle.  There will be air strike objectives in addition to ground support as the battle unfolds.  It's important for our members and any other participants to signup in our Events section, in addition to any of our Tank N Spank buddies who would like to join us.

Tank squads will be filled keeping JG1 members together whenever possible.  In addition, I'd like to have 2 JG1 members with me, to go German when we make the switch, if at all possible. The reason we will have limited numbers of human players on German side is based on AT and artillery/AI tanks built into the mission.  However, if the numbers come up...we could add more German players as well.

Slots currently open for this mission are:

6 slots     Luftwaffe, ground attack and fighter aircraft.

4 slots     Tanks

Anyone interested PM me for signup.  We've found these missions to be a lot of fun and all our players are friendly and welcoming to new simmers.  We believe you will indeed get some immersion in these missions, so come on and check it out if you can....

Thanks

The Americans were pinned down in the Hurtgen Forest suffering terrible casualties with little to show for it.  All this and the Germans were assembling their buildup for the Ardennes Offensive in December.  This is the first hour summary of sorts of our 3 hour Battle for Schmidt and a possible breakout from the dark recesses of the Hurtgen Forest.  A lot of German artillery in this one....

My favorite part in higher res is this scene of tank crews bailing out of their tanks in the middle of the battle with MkIV's that have the road ahead blocked.

This past Sunday's mission first objective capturing a village after a coordinated bombardment and taking on some Soviet armor outside of town. Forming up in the cover of the woods to hide from the roving IL2's as our Luftwaffe was tied up with fighting elsewhere.   After the bombardment, we make our move across open terrain which brings out an IL2 hoping to score a tank kill.  He wanted me bad.....and that last hit...should at the least taken out a track...but alas....I kept going.  Then we form up as Soviet armor is spotted outside of town.  After clearing the way, we move up the village taking out some stubborn resistance.  As the mission unfolded we took some tremendous Soviet rocket attacks which had it's effect.  Countless tanks and AT positions hounded us the entire way, along with the VVS.  Our final objective was not accomplished...but then again, there's next Sunday.....

Many thanks to the French Flyers...Meka's bunch for forming up as the VVS and  some of JG1,  in addition to some solo players who join us from time to time.

Yes, and can push down a 28 inch at the base  oak tree with a panzer III and get immobilized by a farm cart or fence, but hoping for some continued tweaking.  The invisible trees, which we respectfully refer to as mines take more of our tanks then aircraft or AT.  But despite some quirks, we love the game and with careful mission building you can incorporate a very immersive combat environment.  Some guys don’t like the heavy artillery in there sometimes but such is war.  ?

Mid July 1941.....

Mission IV, continues as 19th Panzer pushes onward to relieve the embattled 1st Parachute Division holding on to the captured Kuniya Airbase. This airborne drop was vital to both advance our air contingent and capture a vital rail hub for our push into Russia. Our OKL anticipates a fierce confrontation with the VVS who will throw everything they have into the breach to regain air supremacy in the region. The Russians are hell bent on destroying the 1st Parachute Division and retaking that airbase.  19th Panzer can expect heavy resistance to try and block our unit from reinforcing this unit.

We will split our ground forces into two Kampfgruppen, West and East and will rejoin after targeting enemy strongholds which are separated by several kilometers.  We will then rejoin and take the rail hub and secure the lines all the way to the embattled 1st Parachute Division at Kuniya.  After securing that location, we will attack and hold the town of Kuniya and repair, rearm and rest for the next days mission.

Our Luftwaffe has a plan of attack as well, but with listening enemy VVS forces out there, we will keep these under wraps for now.  The VVS will be out in force and our air components will be player vs player, so it should be a very interesting air battle.

missionIV.1.png

Plenty of room for air and ground signups...SCG will be going "Dead is Dead" so this will be a very serious mission for our ground units.

Mission start time will be 2PM EST,  01/03/21.

Anyone interested PM me and we will give you more information.

Thanks All

Our Sunday Combined Arms mission is coming up this Sunday with a continuation of the above map...with the exception our last mission fell short of relieving the encircled 1st Parachute Division at the Kuniya Airbase.  We did manage a supply drop so they could hold out a little longer and our panzers have made it closer having captured Pershkovo and Begunovo, but fell short and have regrouped within Assembly Areas 1 and 2 marked below.  Fuel, Ammunition and those nasty panzer maintenance chores were required anyways.   This week we have a goal of relieving the 1st, capturing the Village of Kuniya and moving west towards our final objectives.

The goal is pvp in the skies above, with the VVS numbers around the 9 or so numbers...so we need some OKL flyers to help protect our ground units from those darn IL-2's.  Anyone interested in joining us for an approximate 3 hour mission on Sunday at 1:45 PM EST..with a server start of 2:00PM can PM me, or join our website and contact me through those channels.

Thanks

Will start to post pictures and results and videos from the battles our tank group is taking part in and show all the stuff happening in our tank group with clear command structure and squads.

We have been taking part in tanks in flames tournament, previously called tank and spank which is a combined arms tournament where tanks and airplanes need to work together to win.
First round we with our pilots managed to win 2 sectors, but last two weeks we have lost the airwar but our tank unit was far fromd efeated:

17 of April we were outnumbered 4 to 1 and lost the sectors we had taken but even though our tankers managed to hold last sector and almost managed to hold the second sector, as I was away on military excercise Hitman and Schleifer took command in my absence and managed to take a heavy toll on the enemy tank force.
deiiu0h-2dcf17e2-c465-4bc4-b9a0-450e5a51

24 of April:
We werent as outnumbered as before but with 4 pilots we had very small chance of winning in the sectors but we had most of our tankers back and myself back with Neun to lead the unit, we managed to get hold of all objects and held them for most of the match, but the enemy team with good skills managed to get inside the town and get to the flags in there. We were preparing to mount a counterattack when the enemy teams airforce bombed our HQ and we lost that sector.
In the middle sector we managed to break through and get to the objectives and while being bombed and strafed as if it was normandy 1944 we held the line and squad 1 and squad 2 with command of their excellent squad leaders stopped every attack from the enemy tank force and we held all objectives until the end of the match.
deiiu0d-cf24fdd5-572f-4b51-ae71-136b292d

We are looking forward to the next couple of matches and do our best and good military tactics and try and get some sectors back, if not we will make sure we will inflict the enemy tank force heavy losses and win on the ground.

Tomorrow I will post some more exciting pictures of combat and what we did last sunday when we played on Hitmans server, SCG being the attacking and defendinf force as we trained our skills and tactics and having much fun together.

Last sunday we played on Hitmans server: tanks/planes sim dynamic front server, splitted our tank group into two groups: one who will be the defending side and practice such tactics and the other to be the attacking forcte and focus on attacking tactics, and also have fun together.

I was in command of the german force attacking while Vonalba and Stu was squad leaders and we moved on the first objective with two groups, one flanking and one main force who would break in, but the defence was hard and we lost a couple of tanks and almost halted the attack. We changed tactics and moved the flanking unit in panthers to attack from the front and the other with tigers to attack slightly to the left, not a big flank manouver like at first, still facing hard defence we managed to break through and captured the town.
20210425230020_1.jpg?width=1116&height=6

After that we focused on clearing out the town which took some time. But once that was done we started to move to the last objective, we cleared out the area to the river first and once that was done, we formed a line formation and moved towards the next objective and resistance wasnt as bad as before, but we losta  couple of tanks but soon we broke through and captured the last objective:
