Sokol1 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) For many people the HOTAS concept means: buy a Warthog, X-52, X-55, etc. Despite the advantages, one is not limited to use brands matched stick and throttle, he can have bought an X-65 to fly "F-16's" and find this stick not suitable for WW2 warbirds. Or want use the "venerable" M$ Force Feedback 2 USB in HOTAS fashion. Or someone have a T.16000M joystick - the "best" on entry level category - and want add a throttle to then and save some money. Modern games allow use various controllers - the Windows limit seems 16. Options available: CH Products PRO Throttle - work standalone Saitek X-52 throttle - work without stick plugged Saitek X-55 throttle - work without stick plugged Saitek X65 throttle - work without stick plugged CH Quadrant - standalone Saitek Quadrant - standalone Cougar TQS - can be used standalone with TUSBA adapter G-940 throttle - can be used standalone with VKB (Russian market) Throttle Box or rewired with USB controller like BU0836A. Gametrix Engine Control System (low cost throttle - with magnetic sensor on throttle axis - for Russian market, eventually available at flightsimcontrols). Are some Quadrant available in FSX accessories market, bu they are more oriented for specific planes, are more expensive, with low cost/benefit for CFS. For DIY - Old CH Throttle and CH PRO Throttle are ease to rewire to USB with BU0836A or similar (Teensy 2.0) controller. Sokol1 Edited March 30, 2014 by Sokol1
VR-DriftaholiC Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 For how cheap it was the Saitek throttle quadrant was a good upgrade to my G940's very shitty throttle. The G940's Throttle now is assigned to Radiator and Oil coolers. I can't speak to how long the Saitek will last but mine has been OK for 6 months. I'm planning on building my own throttle from a real quadrant eventually.
