LLv34_Flanker Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 S! At current IL-2 GB supports only 64 buttons. My throttle alone has 112 buttons which requires an external software(vJoy+Joystick Gremlin) to be used to limit number of commands. AFAIK IL-2 uses DirectInput. Would it be too much to increase the amount of buttons and axes etc. the game can accept? Would make it easier to map everything straight from the gam for example. DCS has support for more and it understands every single button on my throttle and stick without using any external programs. 1 4
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 just curious Is there even 64 commands in the game ? or atleast those that need seperate buttons. I mean you can map 190 cowl flaps , bf110 oil rads and he111 oil radiator all to same key. or same for water rads. you can multibind many things,
LLv34_Flanker Posted July 18, 2019 Author Posted July 18, 2019 S! I have done that, multibinding. But it would be much easier to have proper support for more buttons. We are not living in 1990´s anymore and controllers get more and more functionalities, bith DIY and factory made ones. 1

LLv34_Flanker Posted July 25, 2020 Author Posted July 25, 2020 S! I have no idea. So far the best configuring system is in DCS. It simply works without a need for 3rd party prograsms of any kind, just click and map. Something other sims could look at and learn.

For example, I may want to just map four buttons on my Hotas, but if any of those buttons are not in the first 64 that Windows sees, forget it....!!!!
LLv44_Kanttori Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 (edited) WE NEED 128 BUTTONS SUPPORT! The much older IL-2 Sturmovik Blitz and Tobruk game simulator has had 128 Button support for some time. With it, you don't need any additional software like Joystick Gremlin and vJoy anymore. It would be high time to get it in the Great Battles series as well, because this is a great sim in every way. Especially when the plane specific mapping option came in the latest update. My newest Kanttorin Kone Bomber Console supports 96 buttons + 8 axis + 4 rotary encoders. Edited August 17, 2022 by LLv44_Kanttori Second picture from my console: It has huge amount of button functions! :) 1
Lemmi Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Yes we do NEED 128 Buttons support. With VKB you can change SEM's and THQ's with Gladiator NXT and use 1 button as shift key over all chained controllers. 1
