69th_Mobile_BBQ Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 (edited) Pretty much just a thread of video(s) of Player vs. AI combat. This first vid is a bit of "gun cam glory" but I intend to display the AI's ability to be brutal in various situations as well. Quick Mission Builder. AI level: Random. No commentary. Post your own AI combat videos from QMB, Campaign, Scripted Campaign, and Single Mission modes. Add commentary if you like, or not. Edited July 17, 2019 by =AVG77=Mobile_BBQ
mpdugas Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Nice video; I'd been thinking that a "belly-up" approach like that to an He-111 or Ju-88, concentrating fire on the cockpit area where the crew is clustered, but without return fire possible, would work. I will avoid pulling past horizontal, like you did, instead, I'll just try to drop away on my rudder when I can't hang on the prop anymore, giving just my side-aspect when I reset for another pass. Thanks, that was helpful.

Thanks, that was helpful. I mainly used that attack on the Stuka because it has no bottom guns. It also has a blind spot directly at the 6 o'clock where the gunner will hit his own tail. Noticed that in the best attacks I made, I really tried to avoid going above the Stuka's elevator line. and dropped down and away as soon as possible. Also, I attacked the leader first so the others couldn't cover with the tail guns. One of them did fire his front guns at the risk hitting the leader, and he did hit me a bit. What I didn't show was that after taking the few hits from the tail gunners and a machine gun hit or two from that one that fired front guns, I leaked out the rest of my fuel in about 3 minutes. This attack type is certainly not guaranteed but, it does seem to be pretty 'safe' as far as Ju-87s are concerned. At least there was no catastrophic damage on that attempt. Bombers with belly gunners are a bit different. You'll need to be more innovative. Yes, there is also a direct-on-6 blind spot on the He-111, but the space is very small with the belly gunner waiting for you to get in sight. I wish you good hunting in your bomber busting endeavors. 69th_Mobile_BBQ Posted July 18, 2019 Author Posted July 18, 2019 Here we see a formation of not-to-be-trifled-with Heinkel-111s of the H6 variety that have strayed from the safety of their own territory. I will set up into an advantageous position before I cull the herd... We, *ahem*, we, (ahem), do apologise for the sudden rise in price of Heinkel Burgers at our locations and from our food trucks. It seems that the Heinkel 111 species of the H6 variety can put up quite a fight when it's about to become lunch. Sometimes you just have to take your chances and slug it out with them. Overall Tally: 1x Kill 1x Probable kill 1x Damaged. Status: Unknown 1x Damaged. Likely to RTB (AI difficulty: Random)
69th_Mobile_BBQ Posted July 19, 2019 Author Posted July 19, 2019 A little something for the Blues. Messerschmitt 109 E7 vs. 4 Pe-2 Ser.35. A.I. level: Random. 4x Kills. Damage Taken: None. Me 109 E7 vs. Pe-2 Ser.87 AI Level: Random 4x Kills Damage taken: Bullet holes. Minor engine damage. ATA gauge jammed. Level Stabilizer control jammed. Right wing radiator open/close indicator shot off. Subjective assessment: Damage taken and plane behavior seems feasible. The Pe-2 and other bomber types with similar gunner layouts are more dangerous when running in a straight line or turning less severely and staying on a general heading/course. This is especially true if a multiple plane formation is providing overlapping covering fire. The AI seems to attempt to dogfight and, even though the Pe-2 is capable, it reduces the defensive effectiveness of the formation. Still, there are many opportunities to attack that can be taken that give the gunners ZERO chance to shoot at all. As a side note: These videos are meant to be gameplay demonstrations without commentary. These videos will be mostly 1st person perspective with little editing. AI is always set to random as I am not intending to represent these videos as "trick shot compilations". Instead, I hope that other players may be able to observe offensive and defensive tactics, plus successes and mistakes that will help them improve their own gameplay experience.

Unfortunately, that didn't represent the real flight against humans flying them and the experience while attacking Peshkas is completely different from this video. In this video, look like they are your friends and are trying not hurt you while they shoot at you. In real flight against humans, they have laser gunners and uses it against you, hungred, thinking that you f***ed his wife, no matter if you are at 800k/h with 60 angle off.

Um.. you do understand that this entire thread is for posting Single Player videos? Yes there are some people that play single player and are still learning how to approach and attack bombers. Perhaps I'll try to get some of my Peshka driver buddies together and I'll show what MP is like. I'm going to gamble and say that some of the attack angles and defensive breakaways I used will still prevent the gunners from getting worthwhile shots. ...FFS... There's always one in every crowd...
