Hello Warthog experts, i posted this elsewhere too, but:

1) WARTHOG .... where is the Z and HOTAS function on the joystick ?

2) Where are the saves of a made WARTHOG setup or configuration, and how can one load or save it?

What is a HOTAS function?  The A10C, when combined with the A10C throttle, constitutes a HOTAS, Hands-on-throttle-and-stick, paradigm, meaning that there are lots of buttons and hats on the stick/throttle allowing the pilot to do lots of things without having to take his hands off the stick or the throttle.  That's all that means, and there is no "Hotas function".  Also, by Z Function, do you mean the Z axis?  There is no Z axis.

Warthog configurations (when used without TARGET software, which is unnecessary) are saved in a location specific to the game in question.  In IL-2 Sturmovik, this is in the game root/data/input directory.

1 - In (Warthog) stick itself are no Z axis - normally used for twist rudder, only X (aileron) and Y (elevator).

In throttle Z axis is right throttle - left is RZ, but in TARGET interface they appear with axis names instead letters, e.g. THRRIGHT.

2 - When you use T.A.R.G.E.T. software (optional) - what if don't know how use properly more hinder than help, are created files .fcf or .tmc and saved in T.A.R.G.E.T. directory. Study T.A.R.G.E.T. manual.

Ah, i really thought HOTAS meant some twisting the stick function .... as Z-axis is with a TM 16000.

Any tips on a button or axe function for rudder control on either the stick or throttle unit? i tried a button now, works like the keyboard X-Z function, but i'll have to find a setting on the Throttle unit controlling rudder, or yaw, so that it centers again automatically. (rudder assist in Custom Settings?)

Tried TARGET, yesterday but on 'running' the BoS.fcf Warthog script downloaded from the Trustmaster site  get 2 errors, SEE PICTURE YELLOW BOX, to do with driver IDs but it still seems to work .......... there seems to be an error with the TM's originated script though. i mailed Thrustmaster about it ...

Maybe latter is due in a driver fault Windows? Before running TARGET i threw out all unused USB drivers with USBdeview, and set Joy ID's to 1 and 2 with JoyID, but in BoS the actual numbers for the axis functions are always 3 & 4, in the settings in the BoS game. With the TM16000 and TWCS they changed neatly according the set JoyID numbers.

Thus is must be some leftover in the Windows registry or installed drivers, but couldn't find it yet.

I removed all old device entries with Device Cleanup: Device Cleanup download

Quote SeaSerpent:  " .....  In IL-2 Sturmovik, this is in the game root/data/input directory. .........

I'll have a look at that, thanks for the tip.  J

You can test rudder control with the "slew" under index finger, this control two axes (horizontal, vertical) with return to center.

But this Warthog  "slew" is hated due be very imprecise. Exist an upgrade option:

But if you are not in DCS/Falcon BMS "jets business" worth more invest the value of upgrade in dedicated rudder pedals, even the "so, so" Thrustmaster TFRP.
