polisheagle1939 Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 (edited) I don’t have Bodenplatte yet and was curious about something. Has anyone belly landed a ME-262 on land? I was curious how it would behave with the two underslung engines, whether that would be an advantage or disadvantage. I can imagine trying to set it down in the water would end badly but I wasn’t sure about how it would work on land. Thanks for your replies. Edited July 14, 2019 by polisheagle1939 Misspelling
Lusekofte Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 I only failed landings with it. I cannot stop before the runway ends. Probably chisen too short runways in qmb

SCG_Tzigy Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 i catted in few times; it does quite well...very survivable
-TBC-AeroAce Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 I have scrapped the bottom along the ground breifly at 600 kmh + and everything was fine.
E4GLEyE Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 weird, did they not ditch the tail dragger layout IRL because engine striking the ground resulted in flames and heat? I mean I love that our planes skid around on the ground, but landing on first gen engines... Sounds like it would/should be more of an explosive experience.
