Interesting notification in career mode

Hadnt done a escort in awhile.  So Im buzzing along and suddenly I get "All ground attack a/c have been downed without any fault of your own (or something like that circumstances beyond ur control?) you should RTB. 

That certainly was a new one to me. So much cloudiness idk if it was flak or a midair massive pileup or wtf happened lol

That happened to you, too? I had a while ago an escort for a few Bf-109 E7 and they also managed to kill themselves^^

Maybe they spawned directly over enemy flak and circled at 500 meters waiting for you

I seriously had never seen that msg and itd been a looong time since Id played in game career thanks to someones career mod

It's a very nice feature to have, for sure. It'd be mighty irritating if your mission was tagged a failure because too many planes were shot down by flak.

Which ties my next question - is this new? Ive lost all planes I escorted before to ground fire and didnt see this afaik.

Does flak cause this or is this built in for rare cases where the AI collides wirh eachother \ the ground.

(Be wary of autopilot - its only happened once but I did have a il2 on AP slam into a mountainside by not climbing enough.

 

O/t I think Ive discovered a bug in RoFand IL2 if youre on ap especially time sped up and you see enemy planes and slow down time.to normal and turn off ap - sometimes if youre slow to react your ai pilot may fire your guns - if your guns are firing on ap when its turned off theyll be "stuck" firing until you press the trigger a couple times

Interesting thanks.  So then its just never happened to me in quite a bit of tooling arnd in career mode.

Does anyone know what exavtly triggers the message?  Surely its not just losing all your herd; could swear Ive lost the bombers Ive escorted all before.

Maybe this was the first time every single one was Flak and thus not my fault in game or some message for rare mid air collisions?

The time I got it was after a Jabo 190 fight I was escorting lost all aircraft to flack and CFIT.

I wish they`d be a little more immersive about it. Have a wingman or commander or your base inform you and call you back to base instead of giant text on a screen. I hate it when its a disembodied text from the Devs in the sky. I believe it shows up even when I have the HUD off.

It definitely shows with HUD off as thats how I fly.
