SCG_Neun Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 Bear with me as I'm a new mission builder and have very limited experience, but I was messing around with a mission for our guys the other day and used the check zone feature to trigger a ground attack, but it was non specific as far as targets go. I just used the waypoints and put them in the area patrolling for German tanks.... I then created something similar to trigger some Stukas to come into a heavily saturated area of the battlefield that our tanks were having trouble making an approach. I made a small check zone area on a knocked out German tank that required one of our guys to go to which would trigger the Stukas coming in for the attack and I also wanted to trigger the Attack Area as well. Is there a way for the check zone trigger to also trigger the attack area for the stukas? I am trying to find an easy solution for calling in an air/artillery strike.
namhee2 Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 (edited) So it takes some practice to set trigger check zone so who or what TCZ should trigger. A plane or a vehicle, friend or enemy and the stukas of game begin to be seen yes or noThere is very good video in French, and if you just copied what he does, then you understand how time it works. and in other video he also explains, with the TCZ Edited July 8, 2019 by namhee2
Gambit21 Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 This is scripting an air strike...I'm working towards getting logic that actually lets the player call in air strikes, whether from a tank or radio from aircraft. Just need one new trigger/event type. 1
SCG_Neun Posted July 10, 2019 Author Posted July 10, 2019 Gambit21, that would be an awesome addition to the sim.
FAFG_Ogier Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 Well, for a slightly different case - and a bit cumbersome - I have used a complex trigger, detecting flare launch from the players (it's for requesting a fighter patrol to take off). Only possible problem - beside having to shoot a flare - is that the request is limited to the area in the complex trigger range. Of course, it would be problematic if the players "just" want to use flares to signal their position or the like. 1
SCG_Neun Posted July 10, 2019 Author Posted July 10, 2019 (edited) Okay, I got something that will work for me now. Thanks guys. Edited July 11, 2019 by SCG_Neun
SCG_Neun Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 This just adds so much to the immersion......This is me testing out the airstrike work around.....It's primitive, but simple and it's really going to offset some of the Russian defensive systems some idiot sets up for SCG. I wonder who that guy is? 1

SCG_Neun Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 (edited) No, I just have a predetermined check zone that triggers the attack by driving a German vehicle next to it. I have two of these as options for an upcoming Sunday mission we are having and they are marked on the Commander’s map next to smoking single bunkers. I told you it was primitive.? But the guys will have to get there first and this channels the action into specific areas that are well defended. They will need those Stukas or the mission probably will not be achieved.... Im new to this mission building stuff so I just use what I can glean from tutorials. The truth is you can get away with an awful lot in a closed server with mission briefings/maps and a set direction of attack. If I tell them you must secure this roadway, it means they’ve got to slog it out and clear the positions, just like in a real situation. Edited July 13, 2019 by SCG_Neun
