Noob Questions

Just about to buy Il 2 Tanks and had a couple of questions:

 

1)Already have a steam account (with IL2 Stalingrad purchased) and I initially logged into the Il2 site with the steam account log in - then believe I created a separate IL2 account that I now log into the IL2 site using - I believe the steam and new IL2 account are now linked! - but how can I check this? -  I understood to play IL2 tanks via steam I think these 2 "accounts" need to be linked? - so once I have made the purchase in the IL2 store how can I download the tanks into my steam (will it appear as a stand alone download option)  or do I simply have an option to play/download it when I enter the steam hanger?)

2)How does Tanks play in VR ? (using the valve index)

3)will tanks come eventually with the Sherman firefly?

 

update just realised I already had an existing IL2 account with some purchased content from a few years back - how would I delink my new account with the steam account (has no purchased content) then link it again with my old Il2 account?...any help appreciated!

Tanks work fine in VR, about the account stuff you need to ask CS.

accounts are all linked now - only question is when I buy tanks - will it need to download on my steam or does it just activate already downloaded game files?

It will activate already downloaded game files.

It will activate on its own without needing to download anything. Also the firefly is not going to be in tank crew as it focuses on the battle of prokhorovka which is in 42 and I do not believe any long barreled 76 sherman was leased to the Russians in 42. Edit: Sorry mixed up my years it is in 43 so disregard that but still I don't believe fireflies were in Kursk let alone prokhorovka.
