rowdyb00t Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 You too Jason! I’m working out of town today on a farm owned by a WWII veteran. He’s got some great stories. He was infantry in the armored division in France and Germany from 44’ until the end of the war. He told me about dogfights he seen and getting bombed and strafed by the Luftwaffe. He’ll be 93 this month and is on a tractor raking hay as I’m writing this I thought I’d share that with you guys. Happy 4th!!! 2 4
Cloyd Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Just came back from our local July 4th parade - fire trucks and cheesy floats raining candy. Aah, it doesn't get any better than that. And it's one of few days when it's OK to start drinking beer before noon.

You're lucky to have the chance to hear them in person. When you guys finish up for the day, you ought to ask if you can record a story of 2 while you guys are relaxing with some cold ice tea, if he hasn't already done something like that. Several museums would love to have that video or audio. Either way, enjoy your time with him, and tell him thanks for what he went through, from another grateful citizen.

BroGrimm1tkcamp Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Don't know what that teleprompter said but it probably didn't say airports .. or maybe??
SYN_Mike77 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 I never did see any of those "new Sherman tanks" either!

Well, Jean-Piere Blanchard didn't demonstrate a balloon on the American continent until 1793, so that's not exactly feasible... 4 minutes ago, SYN_Mike77 said: I never did see any of those "new Sherman tanks" either! OMG yes, when he said that I thought "Wait, are they restarting serial production of the M4A?" Awesome!
SYN_Mike77 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Maybe he was thinking about the latest Tank Battle update?
