Can a career transfer over to other maps?

I was wondering this because I started a campaign as a lowly transport flyer on the BoM map and wanted to work my way up to bomber captain and finish on the BoK map. I'm using the vanilla career mode.

Interesting question. Imn hoping to transfer one of my German pilots to the BOBP career once that's out..

Yes.

Once you finish the Moscow career you can continue on the other maps or just finish career iirc.

When you continue do you choose a new unit?  Can you switch aircraft types or does it upgrade with what the unit historically upgraded with?

You choose a new unit iirc, I haven't played career in a while so I can't remember.

Yes that works. You can continue from BoM to BoS and then to BoK. If your unit is present on all three maps you can also stay with your unit. I./ and II./JG52 by example for a german fighter career works. So you can call your alter ego Gerhard Barkhorn and fly from Moscow to Kuban and score more than 300 kills over the time period from 8/41-10/43.
