  1. 1. This is NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT NEXT. It is about where you think 1C/777studios will go next after Bodenplatte. Where do you think they will most likely go for the next installment?

I guess it's impossible as Arras map has very small airfields only for the WWI aviation at the current stage and Prokhorovka map hasn't the airfields for the Soviet ground attack units and there is only small part of the airfields for the Soviet fighter aviation. Moreover, the main part of the Luftwaffe units left this map after July 13, 1943.

That is a pity. I actually bet that some folks, including me, would be willing to pay money simply for having the ability to play a career mode on the prokhorovka and veliike luki maps. Maybe that is something you could carry over to the team to discuss, whether some minor terrain extentions of both maps enabling career mode might be worthwhile?

Regarding the Prokhorovka map, we'd need to expand it by 25-50 km to the north and east to recreate the Soviet airfields system, it's impossible. And as I said after July 13 Soviet aviation had no rival till the end of month. This map was created for the tank battles in the first place.

That´s tragic to leave out such an important air battle due to lack of 50km of terrain. Really tragic.

It's a pity. And I already dreamed.

But in any case, as I understand it, map development takes a very long time. Therefore, it may take less time to rework the card.
But if these maps are not used, the greater surprise awaits us in November.

There were some over the landing grounds and most likely more than 50:

I'm sure I exaggerated, but your source doesn't address the battles we were discussing. The battles we're discussing happened at the end of June and July, well after allied fighters began operating on French soil. From your source,

"On 6 June 1944, the Allies had a total of 13,000 aircraft ready to support the Normandy invasion. The Luftwaffe had 1,300 aircraft at its peak (reached on 10 June) in France. "

I'd be glad to hear about LW daylight fighter sorties over those battles. Of course, history can be damned for a good game. But I'd rather see PTO :)

It wasn´t meant to. I only wanted to make clear that the airbattle over Normandy was far more complex than many folks think it was.

Best thing about Normandy from a flight sim perspective was the 9th Air Force drive through France toward Belgium, culminating with the carnage at Failaise Gap.

Basically more 9th TAC, Jug goodness.

Not as good as PTO though.

Flying P-47D-22 Razorbacks over the channel sounds great. Though I agree it doesn't seem as good as flying over the Pacific (also with P-47 Razorbacks)
