Marder won't engage enemy tanks

I placed a few marders in a staionary ambush line to kill some tanks. They did not fire but were all destroyed by enemy tanks passing.

I expected the Marder to attack like a tank. with no need for attack commands.

 

Anyone have the Marders attacking

Use an attack area if they are stationary, I dont think they will just attack if left to their own devices. If you want moving tanks to attack things along the way, set the waypoint priority to low and they should engage nearby enemies while travelling.. 

 

EDIT: correction,some tanks will fire on the enemy if attacked with no AttackArea.
