Max Players In Single Plane

I don’t play multiplayer but a friend of mine asked me a legit question concerning it and I don’t have the answer.

 

In multiplayer, what is the max number of human players that can man the different stations within a given plane, say for instance an A-20 or He-111?  Or is there a limit beyond that of how many stations are available?  For instance would it be possible to have one person take the pilots position while one mans the upper guns and yet another in the lower guns, etc.? Or is two the limit no matter how many stations are available in one plane?

 

I think he’s thinking of the three of us at some point all being within the same plane.
