can't enable external views

I have been playing this game since release. Al of a sudden I cannot get external views. Keys and joystick settings don't work. I reset all inputs but can't make it work. Is there a setting that disables external views that I am missing?

I would check the game settings that you are flying with or on. 

 

Is it a expert server?

Try as guys above stated, if it's not working, try to verify game files!

If you're flying online in Wings of Liberty, then that's why you can't use external views. The server doesn't allow it.

 

Others like Berloga do allow it however, so you should be able to change it there.

 

 

Otherwise, check the "External Views" box on difficulty settings.

 

 

 

And if all else fails, Ctrl+E will always give you an outside view of your plane, if only briefly....

When I did the last update, allow spectators was unchecked.

 

I reenabled and all good

Im having the same problem but i dont see any spectater box and on my keyboard f1 dont work and f2 or f3  camera i dont know why it was working before there not broken its only in the game never had that happen i have them correct on my keysettings in game

Spectator box is in Realism settings at the bottom of the screen when you first pull up the map.  Also, check your key settings to see if your F keys are still programed.  F2 and F3 are external views, so if Spectator is not checked they won't show up.
