InProgress Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 (edited) Recently i came across this video: It showes them wearing white helmets with red cross and vests. But as far as i know it's a myth that everyone repeats over and over again. These helmets and vest were used by german POW who served as medics on allied side so they could be easly recognized and not fired upon. Every picture i can find shows medics wearing vests and white helmets only when they are near americans/british: While regular medics among the Wehrmacht at best will only wear armband: Tho i found on some ww2 forum, one user who served as german medic, he said that they would often get rid of these armbands as well. I may be wrong but from the little info there is, i think this video is wrong. Germans never had all this markings. Anyone knows more about it? Edited June 7, 2019 by InProgress 1
