HagarTheHorrible Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 At least it forces you to co-operate and work, if not as a team, then at least as a self preservation seeking rabble. 1
Volkoff Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 At least it forces you to co-operate and work, if not as a team, then at least as a self preservation seeking rabble. He He. I am just starting to get opportunities to work with my squad. I have not yet been much help, though. Tonight, I was shot down while circling over my base, waiting for our squad IL2s to take off. Some escort I am! I saw the IL2s heading out, while I was ditching my smoking LaGG. Later on, i went off in a LaGG-3 two ship with a squad mate, but we ended up separated. We did not get to support one another, but I think my squad mate took out a ground target near the enemy base and I shot down a BF-109. It is going to take me some time, before I am a really good team player, but I will get there and the LaGG-3 is the perfect ride to learn to cooperate cohesively, though I am not going to turn down a Yak-1 in multiplayer, any time soon. MJ P.S. I would add to the list of LaGG-3 virtues, durability and awesome firepower. I benefited greatly from both tonight. 1
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 ...it also looks a bit better than the Yak.
SR-F_Winger Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I was just outclimbing a LAGG to 6-7 thousnad meters in my 109. I must say it climbed pretty well with me. I was barely getting distance. If you ask me its not that bad performing at all.
VR-DriftaholiC Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 out dives a 109 in a pinch and if you are smart and take care of your energy it's pretty easy to stay on top of the 109's
Volkoff Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) She is a great ride. I think she is a real multiplayer show stealer! Tonight I went back on multiplayer and I had some of my worst times and best times, so far. I had someone blow me up with one awesome Deathstar shot....that sucked. Then for a while I had a mixed patch of spins into the ground, my first collision, and a number of ditches...that stuff kind of sucked, by not as bad as getting blown up like Alderon. Then I switched over to a new server, because the original server I was on ended up having lots of teleporting. Well, I was at a morale low, but then....Then I had some serious fun. I ended up with a BF-109 on my tail and I scissor fought the BF-109 until the BF-019 run into the ground. I was feeling good about that, because I take only full fuel, so I can really learn the LaGG-3 with all of her warts. Well, then another BF-109 came in on me and I had the mother of all scissor fights. I need to look back at the track to see how long it went on, but it went on, and on, and on, and it was just epic fun. Eventually, the BF-109 damaged my LaGG and had her smoking up, and I ran my varnished pal into the ground. The fight ended badly for me and my varnished buddy, but the fight was Peter Griffin vs the giant chicken epic awesome. Salute to the gent named Eric! It was a great fight and I had so much fun with you, Sir! MJ Edited March 24, 2014 by =69.GIAP=MIKHA
Georgio Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 ...it also looks a bit better than the Yak. No,no,no...the LaGG is the playground tough-nut, with no neck and a killer punch if you let him catch you. The Yak is the sleek, sexy femme fatale who mesmerises before slipping her dagger under your ribs....
johncage Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 the yak looks more like a midget version of the lagg,
SR-F_Winger Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 the yak looks more like a midget version of the lagg, I like to look of both. Especially the shape of their wings is really nice. Looking forward to flying the YAK in MP.
HagarTheHorrible Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 I lied, In fact there's another good thing. Checking six. Opening the canopy and being able to get a good look at my rear end.
Dave Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 At least it forces you to co-operate and work, if not as a team, then at least as a self preservation seeking rabble. It forces you to think carefully about your aircraft's relative strengths and weaknesses. We may not have E-M diagrams to compare but we can do what some historic pilots did (like Wanderzirkus Rosarius) and fly both aircraft to get a feel for and compare their performance envelopes.
Dave Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) A bit OT but some interesting pics of captured aircraft are in here. Edited March 26, 2014 by Dave
