Harbinger Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Dang whats up with the rudder /yaw? I can`t find a bind on my TH A-10 Warthog Joy Stick that works, I just can`t control the rudders tostay on the runway. What technique should I use? Should I start slow and gradually add more speed. How long should I warm -up the engine? I also tried trimming but that did`nt work neither. Has anyone out there had any luck with the rudders using the TH A-10 Warthog stick please let me know, Also what techniques do you use to control the rudders. I`m not looking to buy another stick or rudder paddles. Thanks Harbinger.
SYN_Vorlander Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Warthog is not a twist stick. So I'm not sure how you want control the rudder without pedals my friend.
HSqn_Swaty Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 You can use another axis (THR-FC) or a hat (CSR-CSL) for rudder. Ideal is to get pedals!
Harbinger Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 Sorry new to flight sims...what do THR-FC or CSR-CSL stand for? Thanks.
dburne Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) Sorry new to flight sims...what do THR-FC or CSR-CSL stand for? Thanks. Those are button identifier names, you can look at the joystick and throttle pdf layout files in your documentation to identify each one. THR-FC is the throttle friction control lever ( the grey axis slider), the CSR or CSL are throttle coolie switch buttons... Fwiw - you have spent the bucks on a really nice HOTAS setup with the Warthog, I know you don't want to buy pedals just yet but they really do compliment that setup very nicely. I myself have the Saitek Combat Pedals and love them. Edited March 23, 2014 by dburnette
HSqn_Swaty Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Sorry about abbreviations but you should take a look to WH manual and TARGET. http://ts.thrustmaster.com
Sokol1 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Harbinger, You is not so lucky ... in BoS control rudder with key/buttons (HAT) inputs is not practical - I know because I am using X, Z - due the fact that controls dont provide a key/button for instant center rudder. So, if you move the rudder "10 clicks" or press 3/4 seconds for right side, need press "10 clicks" or press 3/4 seconds for left side to re-center. Awkward in "combat" flight, acceptable for "loitering" flights. What I suggest is use Warthog throttle (assuming you have the complete HOTAS set) control called "SLEW" (under left middle finger) that act like a mouse, and assign his X axis to control rudder. Since I dont have Warthog I'm assuming that this control (SLEW) have spring return to center (like in other HOTAS), which center the rudder when released, or will not be better than using keys, buttons or HAT... The game accept use mouse axis for control rudder, see: Using this - mouse axis as control for rudder - is need unassign some camera controls already assign to mouse.
