Game will not Update

Tried to launch the game last night with the launcher, and had no notice that I needed an update. Tried to enter from inside the game, and it told me I needed an update. The last I knew I had the latest one (at least 3.012...not sure if it is 3.012c or not). I read where the update server is only up from Friday to Monday. Is there a way to get this updated? As I said, the auto update did not give me a warning, and it did not connect to a server.

Any ideas?

Where did you read that 'the server is only up from Friday to Monday'? It isn't true...

From the Game Setup and Settings FAQ:

5) What if launcher does not update the game?
Note that server is online for 72 hours per week only, from Friday to Monday (Moscow time). Please, make sure that you’re trying to login within the marked period.

I've had to disable my 3rd party firewall in order to connect.

Ok, turned off the WIndows firewall...did not work. What about the hardware firewall on the router?

Ok, thanks to AH_Twenty, think I found a solution. Removed the update folder, and put in an empty one. Rebooted, ran the launcher, and it is updating the game, although very slowly. Hope this fixes it.

That FAQ is out of date (and should be updated). That was back in the day where we could only play and update during the week - the server was shut off over the weekend lest something bad go wrong. That was from the very early days of early access when the only aircraft was the LaGG-3 (and it had no guns), the Lapino map was the only map, etc.

 

Can you login again and tell us exactly what the error message is? Screenshot or just write out the text. There may be some clues contained there.

Ok, I was able to update the game by removing the update folder and starting with a fresh, empty folder. However, some settings reverted to stock, like the in game music, and I will have to redo some of the key bindings. Thats's ok, at least I can get in the game now. I'll fix the other issues tonight. Thanks for the help! Maybe this will help others who have the same problem.
