Sternjaeger Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) ...to all the peeps I met in the multiplayer session today (you know who you are!), hats off to you, it must be really frustrating flying those pesky Laggs! Had a really good time indeed, and as usual staggering quality for an alpha! Yes, there are still things to fix, but this is truly promising! Edited March 22, 2014 by Sternjaeger 2
Volkoff Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) Early access Multiplayer is super fun. I am having technical issues with the US Expert server, but the US Expert Light server is performing great, for me. I don't know if I was playing on your server today, but the LaGG-3 is not frustrating at all to sim fly. She is really durable and when you keep good situational awareness, she can generally get out of the line of fire of a BF-109. Today, someone caught me napping way up high. He knocked out my engine, but my LaGG-3 held together. I was able to evade additional attacks from the same BF-109 or another BF-109, I am not sure, all the way to the deck and ditch. That rugged varnish glider saved my pixel sim life. After that flight, in my next flight, by the greatest of luck, I shot down two BF-109s, both while my landing gear was accidentally down. While i shot down the first BF-109 another Bf-109 almost made a run on me, but did not. I suspect that he thought I was a Stuka. I came in behind his machine and shot something off his plane. A few moments later he went down. I had a great time. I even ran into some of my squad mates for a bit, but it was on the US Expert server and I am getting really bad performance on that server. I had a great time overall. BOS multiplayer will be fantastic, no doubt. MJ Edited March 22, 2014 by =69.GIAP=MIKHA
Georgio Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 ...to all the peeps I met in the multiplayer session today (you know who you are!), hats off to you, it must be really frustrating flying those pesky Laggs! Had a really good time indeed, and as usual staggering quality for an alpha! Yes, there are still things to fix, but this is truly promising! A week ago I would have agreed about you about the LaGGs, however after exclusively flying one last night in MP for about 4 hours I would say that it's performance is now enough to at least keep the 109's on their toes, it's nowhere as good as the Yak but it's not the lame dog it was previously. My favourite tactic last night was to weave my way through the melee of 109 drivers taking snap shots at any planes that presented themselves in front, while watching the pack of 109's at my rear all jockeying for a firing position and colliding with each other in their haste...^^ loads of fun.
FlyingNutcase Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I haven't made time for single player (well, about 10mins last year) but I had to jump in to MP and it was a blast. Flew all four planes; enjoyed them all. It was great flying against real pilots again. Some warping at one stage but mainly very smooth. Kudos to the devs. Thinking back to some of the encounters seems so real. Love it ~
coldViPer Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Yeah, LaGG is really dangerous when you know what you are doing Can't wait Yak and multiplayer, BF-109 pilots will be in trouble..
0ddball Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 And when you don't know what you are doing, LaGG is still dangerous... but only to yourself! I made my sig back when I still couldn't quite figure out takeoffs and landings in the LaGG... now I've got that stuff down but multiplayer has shown me it still applies!
coldViPer Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 And when you don't know what you are doing, LaGG is still dangerous... but only to yourself! Good point
