jimbob_1978 Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Ok so I`ve acquired a couple of PC`s. Without me installing the game on both systems to compare them what in your opinions should I use. I don`t want to spend anymore or do any upgrading, I just want to crack on and play the game. And yes I know I will have limitations because they are relatively low spec machines but I honestly don`t mind running the game on low settings. They are both mATX and I`m using Oculus Rift. Machine 1.... HP Omen 870-206na Desktop i5-7400 with Intel cooler 16gb 2400Mhz cheapo DDR4 Radeon Sapphire RX570 4gb 3D TLC Solid State 250gb 350w PSU Machine 2..... ASUS P8Z77-M motherboard i7-3770k with a Zalman Cooler 16gb 1600Mhz Corsair Vengeance DDR3 Nvidea GTX 1060 3gb 240gb SSD 650w PSU I`m aware I can overclock the second machine but not the first. I`m assuming it`s fairly straight forward to OC? Obviously the first machine is much newer and has quicker RAM speed. I have no idea how their hard drives compare? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
chiliwili69 Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Maybe is not the answer you want to hear, but can you sell both and with the same money buy a new custom low end PC? An PC with a i3-9350K and a GTX 1070 could be a good low budget PC for the Rift. In any case, I would keep the machine 2 since you can overclock the i7-3770k very well. Samuel of this forum was reaching 5.3 GHz!, but if you can reach 4.6 it would be already a good achievement. IL-2 is mainly CPU constrained, so go for the best CPU overclocked. 1
