Disable end of career mission time acceleration

I wonder why at times when I am flying the game seems to accelerate on its own that dogfighting becomes comical. What is this feature? No I am not accidentally triggering time compression (hotkey right bracket -      ]). All of a sudden when I am getting back to base or pursuing bandits the time accelerates. Is there a way to disable this feature?

Also about the minimap, how do I enable it? How do I move theater from Kuban to Stalingrad? The map is checked with O key, but how to toggle minimap? Like BoB?

Sometimes after a lot of 'slowmo' (when the timing drops behind 1x to maintain graphics or calculations or something) the game seems to speed up for me once in a while.  I think it can be 'corrected' by hitting the [ or ] buttons to slow down/speed up and then revert back to normal.

To move the theatre from Stalingrad to Kuban with the same pilot, you need to finish the Stalingrad campaign. You can accelerate your progress by setting the career progress setting to 'rapid' which means you fly roughly one missions per week rather than one or more per day. I think this is the only way to progress, I don't think you can manually end the campaign early to progress. Some units withdraw from the theater before the career ends and if you belong to one of those units the campaign may end early for you.

If you want to just start a new campaign in Kuban, just start a new pilot and pick the Kuban for the new career.

The minimap is linked to your interface settings (i.e. compass, airspeed and other such things on a 'heads up display'). I believe it is toggled by pressing 'I'. Make sure the minimap is toggled in your display settings in the main menu, otherwise it won't appear.

I've never experienced what you're seeing, but I think CAFulcrum's advice is correct. Other than that, I would crank down your settings a bit so that you are not getting large slowdowns during dogfights that the game tries to compensate for (apparently). I have a mid-range machine and keep my settings on 'High' with a few tweaks to increase FPS and I don't get slowdowns, just very occasional stutters in Career mode.

Does it have to do with fuel being low? I am not tweaking the game at all. Its just that regular flying and fighting accelerates after an objective is met in career mode. And not always the case. Sometimes this can be indicated by clouds melting like a slipstream. I will record a video of this phenomenon.

You are probably running the game at settings above what your PC can handle. My guess is that after a big slowdown, the acceleration you see is the PC catching up to regular speed.

What are your PC specs, and what settings are you using?
