mattswe Posted May 18, 2019 Posted May 18, 2019 Hi! When reading the BOS official manual (page 59, at the bottom) it sounds like the oil radiator (as well as the water) on the IL-2 ican be adjusted manually (it says "Intake Oil Temperature: manueally controlled). Though I cant seem to be able to actually control it. I can control the water. Am I missing something here? Regards Matt
56RAF_Stickz Posted May 18, 2019 Posted May 18, 2019 yes it does have manually adjusted oil cooler. There are separate controls listed for it. You obviously have to set these up, from memory I think default is right windows key -/= for open close. But you can change it to whatever is convenient. They usually start fully open as opposed to fully closed for the water rads. Maybe why you do not seem able to adjust them.
mattswe Posted May 19, 2019 Author Posted May 19, 2019 Thank you for your answer. Im not sure what I had done wrong, after remapping the keys I now can adjust the oil radiator. A bit confusing, but at least it works now.
SCG_OpticFlow Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 The oil rad. on IL-2 has armoured shutter, you should close it before attack and leave it open during the rest of the flight. The water rad. is hidden behind the engine and is protected by design.
