Panzerlang Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 (edited) I've just paid for my Crosswinds, should be dispatched on the 21st. I kind of got to sitting on the fence a bit, £270 (included transfer charges) started to seem a bit of an indulgence for a rudder I hardly use. But then I thought maybe I don't use it because the Saiteks I currently use are so 'on~off'? They're perfectly smooth, and in external view they appear to move the rudder very smoothly and progressively. But in the plane it takes only a couple of centimeters of pedal deflection to swing the nose quite a way. Very very hard to use them for precision aim correction. I wondered if that's a Saitek issue or a game code/FM one. Well, I guess I'll be finding out soon enough. I doubt they'll turn me from a mediocre survivor into an ace though. ST_Pirato Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 If you think the Saiteks are smooth then wait until you've tried the Crosswinds. The difference from Saitek to the Crosswinds is very noticable, like night and day. Only thing you will regret is that you haven't bought them earlier ^^ 1
BigC208 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 (edited) I've had the Crosswinds sinds October, first batch serial#12. They're fantastic. I even use them for my civilian sim setup that came with an FAA approved rudder setup. Those are stowed away now. The Crosswinds are much more precise than anything I've had before. You won't be sorry. Edited March 17, 2014 by BigC208 1
Allons Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Anybody have a link to the crosswinds? Would be interesting to see, what they feature, Thx in advance, Allons!
Panzerlang Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Mine arrived about an hour ago and I've just been trying them out in BoS. The pedals...pictures don't do them justice. Unfortunately neither does BoS, the rudder in the 109 still feels like it's either on or off. Hopefully this will be seriously fixed by release. I have checked them out in the BoS settings and they're perfectly linear all the way through the range of movement, so it's definitely the FM code that's borked. The pedals are an engineering work of art, I'm seriously impressed. And incredibly smooth. Hard to believe something of this quality can be retailed at such a price. If you have the money and the interest I can't recommend them highly enough, they're light-years ahead of the Saiteks they've replaced.
Panzerlang Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 And in CloD the difference is night and day, I now have a rudder worthy of the name. Which is a bit odd because I thought it would be BoS that would have benefited the most, I always had the feeling the CloD rudder was code-borked.
SYN_Vorlander Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Salute Siggi, MFG Crosswinds are the best. No doubt about it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with my Saitek Combat Pedals!
Panzerlang Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 OMG, now I am really tempted. No, just say no! There is absolutely nothing wrong with my Saitek Combat Pedals! Yes there is; they suck. A bit.
Bando Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Looking drooling at this thread. 4 more months untill I move back to Europe. I will order them paddles at Milan for sure. Still wondering what stick I should order. Tempted for one of the VKB products with an extension. Not 100% sure yet.
