The beauty of the game is that all planes are really different. On one it is easy to play, on others it is difficult. But when I learn a new type of aircraft (no matter whose), in parallel, studying its history, that's when I get the biggest buzz.

Im liking the yak 7b lately, nice change from the 109's i usually fly, like the guns too.

OrLoK- My bad! I meant to add it. Looks like we can have more than 20 options in a poll. Getting the 52 from point A to point B in hostile skies is pretty exhilarating stuff.

Tried I-16 for the first time, I was once again stunned by Russian engineering,  already before taking off , I barerly could see any instruments, while in the air I noticed there is no canopy, was thinking why my gear takes so long to get up (apparently it took around 40 full turns to do it, I imagine the pilot was already exhausted after that) but heck when I started flying... everything seemed so nice and enjoyable, after landing I felt like I had best flight of my life. So immediately voted for I-16!

I'm not a very skillfull player online but i really enjoy flying P-39 (oh god that cannon) and p-47!

 If I want to have the greatest chance of staying alive and getting air kills online then I might choose the Spit IX and it is lovely to fly but I really enjoy flying the Mig-3 in early war maps.

 

Offline I enjoy the P39 and P47 in single missions or campaigns but I cannot do much with them against human pilots in fighters online ?  I suppose I have had quite good results using them as ground attackers that have a better chance of getting home.

Good question. The Allied plane I fly the most is the Yak-1, but I think I have more fun in the IL-2 and Pe-2 when I fly those.

The I-16 for the allies. Its easy to fly. Very fun for flying aerobatics. Its simple to manage.

 

And the Ju-87 for the Axis. Always loved the Stuka. Always will. I enjoy flying it. Doing aerobatics in it. I like dive bombing. I like tank busting in it. Nice to cruise around in.

Has a nasty stall though, not something to overlook when flying low and dirty.

 

I think the A20 is probably the highest when sorting by fun factor.

Cliche or not, I love the Yak's maneuverability and I've spent countless hours not even fighting but doing aerobatics in that thing. I love it and I hope we can see the Yak-3 some day.

I didn't notice that and that's a good question actually. I'm curious too. If you compare their stats they have the same engine and many of the same specs. The A-5 is barely heavier, barely slower, and has a slightly slower climb rate but they seem like negligible differences. At 3K the A-5 does turn slower though.

 

But aside from all of that, the A-5 with the U17 Mod (the F-3) has a significantly better weapons load along with the engine boost which makes it superior to me. I love flying the F-3 in Kuban. 

 

Maybe it's just because the A-3 was a collector plane and was pretty fun to fly in Stalingrad campaigns? I don't know, just speculating at this point, and I'm sure others might have a better reason.

I'd given my voice to old JU  (or Toucan )  in memoriam of my early years......

This old warhorse served in many parts of the world, under dozen of colors and uses......and it is the only one you can fly and jump from !
